Protest at the snooker

mmmm, sounds familiar......
Sounds like something from Germany in the 1930s
Someone with 6 previous convictions ends up in prison on number 7, it’s hardly some terrifying slip into 1930s Germany is it?

If it was some peaceful protest and they had served a 3 year prison sentence as punishment you might have a point.

Think people fail to realise this covers all protests, if someone had decided to block a bridge for 2 days in protest of small boat crossings, would we all be jumping to defend their right to protest then? Because if you allow it for this protest then it’s a legitimate tool for any protest in the future

Rightly so, closing a major road network for almost two days. Costing the economy loads and stopping people getting to work/appointments. Hopefully it will be a strong deterrent to anyone stupid enough to do the same thing in the future
If we're going to jail people for major disruption to the transport system the police should be knocking on the doors of the rail company directors. Their mismanagement, fully backed by the government, has caused havoc for far longer than two days.

The French don’t bother sitting down on motorways. A69 Toulouse.
