Protest at the snooker

Yes but banning these specific protests have got huge numbers of the public on the governments side, and expect it to be a huge part of their election campaign to push it even further
Okay so.., you’re saying we shouldn’t protest against something because the government will ban it. But then by that logic surely they’ve won anyway because nobody is protesting?

My point is what sort of protest will actually win here? Because every single one will be framed by the government and the establishment media as disruptive, dangerous… or whatever misinformation they use, whichever lies they decide to try and peddle.

The general point is that there will be disruption. There is no way around it. It’s why you need an effective opposition, someone to stand up for the truth and for what is right instead of cowering in fear. You’ll win no arguments by hiding away.

Can you imagine the suffragettes movement today? Wokey liberals disrupting hard working people.

I could have predicted the posters here speaking out against this, always on the wrong side of the argument 🙄

It is not a peaceful protest though, they have scattered powder over a table that will need to be stripped, cleaned and recovered. They have spoilt the entertainment of people who will have travelled and more than likely will be staying in hotels.

Too many trivialising these protests.
As long as it hits Eddie Hearn in the pocket I could live with it.

I support reducing our reliance on oil.
What's this specific protest going to achieve?

It's a mildly annoying disruption for the small minority of people in the UK that actively care about snooker, at an event that has absolutely nothing to do with oil consumption.
For the main part, it just makes the two protesters seem daft for disrupting that event.

At least with the protests involving transport, you can see what they were trying to achieve.

People are talking about it. It’s being covered on the news. They will consider that job done.

I do think we should stop pretending, there is no such thing as just stopping oil. It's not possible; almost everything in our life involve oil, including the lives of the protesters. Yes we desperately need a serious think about the future, but just stopping oil isn't going to happen what ever they attack.

Stop attacking and start educating.

What has that got to with snooker?

What next? Throwing orange paint at the curling championships? Making yellow snow at the ski jump?
I get why they are protesting I do. But as others have said all they seem to be doing is ******* off various different sectors of the national community.
Form a parliamentary party. Go that way to enact change.
