I have realised reading this thread that I am a man from the 1920s.
I even do the rolled up trousers thing when it gets hot.

Yeah...there are photos of my grandad at the beach with his white shirt sleeves rolled up, cigarette in hand and hair all creamed back but with a bit of the fringe flopping down and he looks like a right F***ing cool dude...
He should have had a plain white t shirt and jeans on lol
My dad is seventy six and he's only recently started wearing shorts when he's lounging around in his house. It isn't a pretty sight, believe me.I’m coming up 65; my dad never wore jeans. Jacket, shirt and tie for work; slacks or cords at the weekend.
He did however wear shorts. Many would say that they wished he hadn’t, god bless his soul!
Not once. No chance at all. Wouldn’t have been seen dead in them. Suit, shirt and crew neck jumper or shirt and tie. I on the hand am 62 and to my wife’s irritation (who thinks I’m too old, look like Jim Royle and should wear cords) don them on every non-formal occasionI know....very random indeed but this is aimed at the older lads on here, 40, 50, 60+.
It just cropped up in conversation about dad's always wearing trousers/slacks, call them what you want but I can never ever remember my old man in a pair of jeans. Come to think of it I can never remember him in a pair of shorts.
I'm pushing 59 now and only ever wear trousers to some sort of function.
Was it a generational thing? A fashion thing? Surely jeans were around in the 60s and 70s
So, over to you lovely lot.
Did your dad wear jeans ( and shorts )
