Interesting to compare this with Aaron Ramsey @ Rangers.

One player is saying the SPL (with the Old Firm) is bigger than say the bottom half of the English Premier and the other saying top half English Championship is better.

I do realise AR is older which may have an influence.

That's the first thing I thought too. I bet rangers fans are really taking the pish at the minute.

I think AR is probably winding down his career. He's been there done that as far as the premier league is concerned. He maybe's enjoys being a big fish in a small pond.
 
Also like Bale - his main interest seems to be playing for Wales. Perhaps thinks he will get an easier ride in the SPL which will help him to be fit for Wales. With his injury record he maybe doesn't feel like he can manage to compete in a 38 game season in the PL.
 
Playing in the Scottish league can look better than it is due the marketing around it . Starting a season knowing your either going to be first or second before a ball is kicked isn’t a place for anyone player looking for a career challenge.
