It's leaving them without even telling them that he was leaving that was the problem, not the fact he left.

FGR found out through the press that he was deep in negotiations with Watford.

I always find a new manager bounce comes after game 1, normally game 2 or 3 and especially if the new manager’s team are playing someone in decent form, which boro are(!)
The only peculiar aspect to this is the amount of time he’s spent with his new players and how that will affect them
Who knows….could take the edge off the new manager bounce possibly ?
