Ross Stewart.

Think his agent is using this to get him a new contract at Sunderland.

I wouldn't want him here given his injury record.

He clearly has it. The risk is the injury last season. Dont know a lot of him before then, does he have an injury track record or was it just last year? Played almost all the season before that.

Not for me, he was a goalscorer but for me lacks the finesse, mobility and skillset for our adopted playing style. His injury record is a significant worry too, maybe the agent is pushing his interest wider because Sunderland themselves want a sale because of his issues. We don’t know, but signing players who have had significant injuries in the past rarely worked out well. They may be cheap but were they value, ziege being a notable exception. An Achilles injury can result in a player losing some of their past ability. I wouldn’t have wanted him prior to his recent troubles in any event. It is a NO from me.

A good player though injuries have taken their toll & will probably only get worse:

22/23 Achilles tendon surgery - Jan 28, still recovering - 2023-169 days, 22 games missed
22/23 Hamstring Injury - Sep 5, 2022 Dec 7, 2022-93 days, 14 games missed
19/20 Hamstring Injury - Dec 29, 2019 Feb 29, 2020-62 days,10 games missed

I'd not be wanting a player with those type of injuries being key to promotion - hamstrings never get better with age.

Not played since January when he scored against us .
Risky if true.

Guess he would go to one of the relegated sides, can’t exactly see him not taking what will likely be the biggest contract of his career.

I like Stewart but not sure I would be comfortable with us blowing the budget on a striker who has had one good season in his career (in league one)
