Rwanda Bill & Jacob Young

That last line hits hard. Because they have dragged everyone else down with them. There's no point in labour campaigning with anything other than sniping attacks and "but Tory this" because that's what the Tories will do. It's a sad state of affairs
It's been full on self destruct. Cameron started it, Bozo continued it (on steroids) to the point now with Lil' Rishi where representing your constituency is seen as a frightful chore, which interferes with your 6 jobs and other nefarious activities.

To say UK politics is in the swamp is an understatement.

I had to laugh on question time when the Tory MP said he was hearing a lot of support for the policy when knocking on doors. Who's door, Rishi Sunak?

I can agree something needs to be done - though that should be, application in their own country or safe EU country - which the UK has seemingly failed for decades to setup..

I have - little - sympathy for the able bodied men seeking - asylum - in the UK after passing through several safe countries & several safe EU countries to enter UK - I'm far too cynical to think it's little more than - economic migration / opportunism - however I'd never bring myself to vote for the blue team.. they are abhorrent & self serving..

What's wrong with economic migration, if they're coming here to work and pay taxes just like everyone else?

It all comes down to the first line of your post. That effectively 'solves' the issue you raise below that.

If you don't do the first thing you encourage the latter.

However again, it is worth pointing out that the Rwanda scheme is on about sending a small proportion of a small proportion of immigrants.

I agree - the Rwanda smokescreen - is all about headlines not policy, the big reduction in immigration was done when they limited the number of dependants people can bring..

Never forget the time Mick Lynch called tory scum Philp a liar to his face fifteen times.
Tory tactics are to aggressively make baseless assertions in a loud authoritative voice to cow the plebs. It doesn't work anymore.

Sign of a true coward, can't even look Lynch in the eye

Philip desperately wishing it was Fiona Bruce sitting next to him, instead of Kirsty Wark.

Chris Philp will be sleeping better tonight, safe in the knowledge that the King is signing off the sick to carry on the rest of his duties.
Can’t have people off work, with illnesses, they’re just work shy.
