We need cover at RWB and RF was fantastic on loan, loved the way he plays, which is 100% the CW way.

I actually think it really damaged our chances of promotion when AK fell out with him, which was connected to him training at Spurs, when he was injured IIRC.

a big mistake by Karanka to naughty step him before the playoff final. making Bamford play through injury was idiotic also.

Fredericks was on the naughty step way before the playoffs. It probably wasn't long after Christmas he was bombed out. Seemingly out of nowhere.

This would be an excellent signing. His quality would make him more of a rotation option rather than backup

I would have him straight in the side at right back / right wing back. I think Jones had a great breakthrough season but was a shadow of the player he was at the start in the last 10 games. Not sure if teams just sussed him out or he wasn’t fully fit after COVID or was being asked to play a different role by Wilder but was lucky to stay in the side based on his contribution. Hopefully a good pre season and a good start to the new season but Fredricks would be a great addition for us on the right, maybe Jones could play in front of him?

To be fair if Tav, Howson, Crooks and any of the various options who had a go at LWB had anywhere near Jones' assist numbers we'd probably have comfortably made the playoffs.

I don't think teams sussed Jones out per se, but we needed the Dijksteel/Crooks/Jones partnership to keep clicking. If any of those three had a bad game, we had a bad game as we offered barely any threat from anywhere else. If we'd had a Giles or Toffollo at LWB we'd have near enough doubled our attacking threat IMO. Our lopsidedness in attacking cost us as much as our misfiring loan signing forwards in lots of games.

Play Jones as a centre forward. He's quick. He's got a great engine. He hardly scores any goals. Perfect wilderball forward. It'll be like when Wenger moved Henry off the wing.

I think if we played Jones as centre forward now and then it might help his goal scoring ability when reverting back to the wing . Unlikely to happen like especially if we’re bringing some decent scorers in
