It was a very surprising move if it were "just" a loan. Developing one of your rivals players then, in theory, he would return to Leeds a better player.

And seeing as we moved away from the "loan never to be signed" model, this could very well be plausible.

Hmmmm......🤔🤔

Get him signed at that price, could be a very shrewd signing, certainly fits the new modeland looks a very promising player in the making.

It did look an odd one as an loan (given he's very unproven and was already at a championship club), so would make more sense.

But if true why not announce it at the time?

It might only be an option, rather than compulsory, so no point in advertising the fact.

I really like the look of him. I know not everything he’s doing is coming off at the minute, but he looks like a smart footballer and he gets into some great positions Early days but very very promising. £1.5 mil could be an absolute snip.

His goal on Saturday was top class, a real ‘sniffers‘ goal, almost out of nothing, you couldn’t believe it until the net bulged, very opportunistic. Hopefully the first of many.

Maybe, but still of interest isn't it?

Can't remember if the club have done it before or not. We had options on Vossen and Sporar I think but not sure if they were officially confirmed or just reported in the media.

If that were true then I would agree it is a decent fee were he to show consistency. He has shown promise both starts and on his debut as sub tbf.

It may also add to why his dad, a lifelong Sunderland fan, was happy to sit in the away end at his own Stadium. I know he was supporting his son, but it is still a big message. Lets not jump guns, the decision can be made at seasons end, I like this kind of deal as the player has to earn the right to continue to wear the shirt going forward in his career.

Yeah, I think he's one of those who clearly has a lot of ability but can he turn that ability into a consistent end product? Don't know why but Marinelli springs to mind as one who couldn't quite manage it.

Not really having had a defined position before won't have helped him either. From the bits we've seen I think he's got the skill set to play as the 10 and it's early days but I suspect Carrick sees him as our number one choice in that position if he keeps performing.
