Season card renewal deadline 3 pm today

So, approx 2,000 down on last year’s renewals.

Impossible to tell how many are due to the drop off in the quality of football, and how many are due to price increases / poor comms.

My gut feel is it would be heavily weighted in the former.

If we were still playing the quality of football we were playing this time last year, I think we would have matched or even surpassed the 19k figure

I renewed on the last day, the club told me I could keep my hard copy of my season ticket and also keep it it is lost or broken and not be switched to digital. If that was communicated to me on day one, x5 renewals would have happened on day one.

I very nearly packed it in this season.

the lack of a half price season ticket, the digital ticketing communications 4 days before the start of the season, the lying about the fans forum being consulted on digital tickets and the initial mid March renewal deadline .

The PR and communications over a significant period of time have been dreadful. Own goal after own goal.

I don't think it's just the quality of football.
I can't recall exactly when the EB deadline was last season but the end of March really represented the end of our good form. This day last year we were 3 points off an automatic promotion slot. We took 8 points from 8 games from April onwards.

There was a realistic chance of PL football in the 23/24 season, and some will have been willing to gamble on that happening.

Like all fans it the hope that sustains you - think this has been an awful season after the really positive feeling when Carrick arrived last season and we got so close to promotion. Yes we have had horrendous injuries but the back up players have been very poor and couldn’t have had a more contrasting impact from the loan players this year to those we got in last season. I will go into next season full of that same blind hope but another bang average mid table campaign might finally see me off.

I don’t get this at all. if you want to watch 2, 5 or 10 games of season, it’s most cost-effective to pay walk up prices. If you want to do 15, it’s about 50-50. if you want to do more than that, get a season ticket. if you were lucky enough to be able to do all 23, you are doing quite well on the discount. It’s just maths. The only real argument is whether 15 is the right break even number.
It's a big factor as to why I continue to renew. I'd most likely attend 15 games a season if I didn't have a season ticket - possibly a few games less if performances on the pitch were poor, and more if performances were good. It ultimately makes sense to just buy a season ticket.

Ultimately, the issue isn't actually the club's pricing strategy. Many other clubs employ the same strategy, in order to nail down season ticket holders. It wouldn't make much sense to charge £510 a season ticket, and then charge £22 walk-ups, as many would then just choose to pick and choose which games to attend.

The issue is that the pricing is too expensive overall. Season tickets are too expensive, as are walk-up prices.

When is the last date for renewal in general ? Or has that not been announced.
I'm thinking of getting a ticket for next season, was wondering when I could look at available tickets.

The deadline date was 31st March. We possibly had a 40% chance of promotion towards the end of March. Virtually zero chance this season.

The 17,000 plus Early Birds this season is a very good base of support. It means likely crowds of at least 21,500 plus

This season has been a bit of struggle and quite different from last season I actually think the 17,000 plus is a very good to excellent response from Boro fans and the trust they have put in the Club to strengthen the squad in the Summer.

Agree totally, it’s down to performance and not the extra (£30 was it?)

Attendances will always fluctuate but this season is down to having two very good seasons previously.

I would expect 20-21000 come the first kick in 24/25.

I couldn't disagree more re all pricing.

The Match day prices are insult pricing.
The EB SC prices offer much better value.

It is £37 for an adult where I sit tomorrow ex Booking fee.
A 6 year old will be asked to pay £22.

The premium over the EB SC is absurd.

Again, we have sold FEWER season tickets than as this stage last year. This is most definitely not a good thing. I can’t believe there are people trying to spin it as anything but a complete disaster. The aim is to sell MORE tickets. It’s been an absolute binfire from the moment they announced it.

When you've got QPR charging £242 for an early bird SC, it really puts it into perspective.

The matchday pricing is an insult, as is the SC early bird pricing.

I don't think we'll see the full impact of the EFL's deal with Sky until the following season. When most games are on TV and KO times are all over the shop STs will become a lot less attractive.
This. But next season. Kick off times are going to be madness. We will be on TV I think 27 times minimum. Or 23. Either way there is going to be massive upheaval in kick off times and days

Has the SKY TV revenue increased with the new deal?
Last deal at headline level was worth about £600m, this next deal is worth the best part of £1b. Then there also the best part of £1b 6 year deal for trickle down money from the prem if it ever gets agreed.

Exactly. People know they kick in next year, but we don't know the detail. It's hard enough to plan ahead now with late game scheduling. It's about to get a lot worse.
The walk up fans will notice very quickly. The club have thrown those away. Whether intentionally or otherwise.
