What’s the difference to England preparing a green top?England will do well to last the day. Sour grapes perhaps but this pitch does nothing for test cricket. We’ve enjoyed some great 5 day tests recently with all three results possible in the final session on multiple occasions. Then we get an under pressure Kohli forcing the preparation of this shocker.
What’s the difference to England preparing a green top?
A green top will become easier to play on if you can survive, this pitch you've got no chance on day 2.
If India lost the toss, they would be in a similar position with egg on their faces for this pitch, its a huge shame for the fans hoping to see 5 days of live cricket.
They do it all the time when behind in series.Do you think they've deliberately made it that bad? Preparing a pitch to play to your strengths is one thing.
But preparing one like this where the outcome of the match is almost decided purely on the toss of a coin is bonkers. Particularly when you're at home and have the stronger side (certainly for the conditions). Can't see them doing that on purpose.
Someone has cocked up a bit surely? Over doing it in attempting the favour the home team perhaps?
You’re showing ignorance by suggesting England ever prepare a “green top”. Compare those pitches in New Zealand with anything curated in England over the last 10 years. What’s the difference to England preparing a green top?
Rumours abound about a double headed Rupee in Virat’s pocket!Do you think they've deliberately made it that bad? Preparing a pitch to play to your strengths is one thing.

Fair point about the becoming a little easierA green top will become easier to play on if you can survive, this pitch you've got no chance on day 2.

Rohit batted well, but he benifited from batting on what is a completely different wicket to this. This is now a minefield.Too much being made of the pitch imho. Difference between the two sides here is that two Indian batsmen have managed to get in. Yes, the pitch favours India and their spinners are better, but you have to give credit to Rohit's superb innings yesterday.
I also wonder if England should have gone with three spinners when they saw the pitch.
Totally agree. Poor advert for test cricket producing a wicket like that.Rohit batted well, but he benifited from batting on what is a completely different wicket to this. This is now a minefield.
The test has been won on the toss of a coin.
And it's only day two! This pitch is an absolute mess. Look at the dust coming off the pitch. Nearly every single ball
