Second Test - India v England

india should be fined for producing a pitch like this. England need 23 to save the follow on. Will India enforce it. They probably will given that the wicket is already horrible.

I think they will enforce it. Surely they will want to protect their batsmen's confidence by not subjecting them to this deteriorating track. Also, conversely, why give England's spinners confidence? It makes sense to just crush us.

Doubt it. They wouldn’t want to risk root getting in and setting a target of 100 or so. Think it would be a struggle to chase even 50 in the 4th innings

All out for 134.

I would now like to take this opportunity to encourage all FMTTMers to join me in a rain dance.

the english bowlers didnt - thats why India got over 320 runs ! in their 1st innings
It's a day later and Root was turning it square...it's clear whoever won the toss would win this game and if you can't see that then there's no point in discussing any further! The Indians panicked as Kohli was on the verge of losing the captaincy and possibly losing the chance to play in the test champ final; obviously a lot of people have put money on it and couldn't afford to lose it- see the 3rd umpire decisions in England's innings for evidence of corruption. Been going on for years with the Indians.

desperate - after the toss, why did you bother watching it 🏏
Because there's always a chance someone might do something extraordinary; as with the Boro it's the hope that kills you. Pitches in next tests will be exactly the same; lets see how India do if England win the toss.

Look I'd have taken 1-1 from the Chennai tests at the start of the series. Let them have this one and move on.

Win the day/nighter, which was always our best chance anyway and then it's a 1 test shoot out for a place in the final of the World Test Championship.

All about the toss over there. Always has been.
That said lets see how India fair in their second innings on a pitch worse than Englands meagre total.

IMO India are a better team than England. Their batsmen have better Test averages than out players and their bowlers perform better on these wickets.

Their using their feet better

I'd be tempted to just bowl pure filth and let them get the runs as quickly as possible to try and keep our bowlers fresh, last thing we want is to be out there all day tomorrow

Isn't it weird how a batsman knows when he's got the faintest touch on it when reviewing an lbw but struggle to feel one when it goes to hands????

Tell ya, bowl filth let them get a 500 hundred lead by lunch tomorrow, be all out by the end of the day amd get a day's additional rest.
