Flippin beyond belief. sick of the cliches, the excuses, the "deadlines" (?!!!) and all the crap from the EFL, Quantum, Bell- Mel Morris....Maybe Mel's having a BBQ with a few friends, I don't know what Derby C**try have got to do with this ground?
Latest "Our client confirms that it remains interested in acquiring the club's business and assets,"
Are they going to have to buy the ground separately [from Mel], once they have paid off the debts? No mention of acquiring the liabilities
Yes the ground belongs to Shady Mel and is no longer part of DCFC. Leasing it from him remains a possibility. Are they going to have to buy the ground separately [from Mel], once they have paid off the debts?
There was talk of a local businessman buying the ground from Mel to get him out of the picture, and then either leasing it back to Derby or letting a new owner buy it at cost.Yes the ground belongs to Shady Mel and is no longer part of DCFC. Leasing it from him remains a possibility.
‘At cost’ - £80m?There was talk of a local businessman buying the ground from Mel to get him out of the picture, and then either leasing it back to Derby or letting a new owner buy it at cost.
There was even a rumour that this has already happened.
No haha, that was never the value of the stadium. I think whatever that businessman buys for is what he will sell to a new owner. I'd guess it's true value of 20-30m.‘At cost’ - £80m?
Things Steve Gibson DIDN'T do:Literally Steve Gibson was the first to publically question their administrators and years ago he challenged Mel Morris.
He has been proven to be 100% correct.
An inconvenient truth for Derby fans.
I was being flippant re the FFP inflated priceNo haha, that was never the value of the stadium. I think whatever that businessman buys for is what he will sell to a new owner. I'd guess it's true value of 20-30m.
Personally, I think that Derby should be hit with a 20 point penalty for further falsifying accounts if they buy the stadium back for less than 80
It's already right next to a huge Sainsburys, but I take your point. Flats or yet more car outlets maybe.Or maybe free his hand to sell it to a massive supermarket.
Well ....yeah ......apart from thatThings Steve Gibson DIDN'T do:
- Break the leagues FFP rules to cheat the 'football family'
- Overspend at Derby County despite not having had parachute or prem money for a decade
- Put Derby into administration, then run away to the states for a month to avoid questions
- Lie to Derby fans
- Double down on a failed strategy for prem promotion, putting the future of the club at risk
- Sell Derby's key assets such as the stadium, leaving the sale of the club a complicated and high risk issue for any potential buyer
- Laden derby county with debts to foreign money lenders
- Sign bog average players like Lawrence on 37k/week 5 year contracts
- refuse to address outstanding legal issues against derby for over a year in the hope they would melt away
- put in a low ball offer for the club that didn't meet league rules over debt payments
- build up 36m of HMRC debts
- put in an offer for the club but fail to produce the money when the time came
- Give exclusivity to someone without proper due diligence
- Fail to apply league rules on FFP
MM > Quantuma > CK > EFL > MA.....and that's all the blame apportioned.
Or Marty McFly in the DeLorean perhaps?Derby latest is that CK thinks he‘s still in play. Just waiting for Marty Byrd’s truck to arrive.
Just confirmed on Sky. Oh dear indeed.
