Skunks or Manure ?

Man Utd all day, can't imagine I'd want Newcastle to win any match they ever play.

Used to hate Man Utd for years too but I'm warming to them now - ETH is an incredible manager, it's interesting to follow their improvement under his stewardship.

Which team will arrive late at the ground though due to not understanding traffic conditions on the morning of a huge event ? Which one ? 🤦‍♂️

If Rashford is fit, then I don't see anything but a Utd (there's only one Utd) win.

ETH has done an unbelievable job since he's come in.

He's rid the club of the cancer that was killing them and now has them playing some very good football, whilst churning out big results.

I think they could be a force next season if he gets the players he wants (GK, De Jong & a striker).
Haha, I know know a Newcastle fan who is fuming because the sky advert for the game talks about Utd v Newcastle.

I've got £932 riding on the skunks from a 5-fold accy I put on months ago when they were 5/1. I've got a skunk brother-in-law whose predictably come out of the woodwork and wants to talk all things football all of a sudden after years of not saying a word, he's even turned my Middlesbrough born and bred niece (who was on the way to being a Boro fan) into a black and white and is taking her to the final and getting her a season ticket at St. James' Park next year.

I can honestly say I couldn't give a toss if my bet lost now. Fcuk the money, I hope the skunks get stuffed.

Just watched Man Utd beat a pretty decent Barca side in Europe, I cannot imagine them losing

They might if they start Weghorst up top
Why?

I actually think he's been one of the best signings in the January transfer window.

He wasn't bought for his goalscoring. Utd aren't short in that department. They seem to score all over the pitch, especially with Rashford in the form of his life.

Weghorst was bought as a striker to cover Martial (when injured) and who can press and so far he's been a pressing machine for Utd. He's actually been underrated for Utd by the press and pundits.

He's not a glamour name and he doesn't possess the best scoring stats, but he certainly helps their attack.

He's basically doing what Giroud for France has done.

No doubt Utd will spend big in that department come the summer, but Weghorst has certainly done a good job for them so far.

Is there not some way they can both lose? if they both get 8 players sent off or something?!

Regarding the Geordies winning and the potential years of going on about it as a result.... that's all we've been doing since Cardiff!

Only commenting on last nights game, as I haven't seen as much as man utd as others, but last night he was dreadful. The points you make re Giroud etc are all valid in the general sense, but you cant of watched the match last night to think they apply in this instance.

Last night he looked like he was doing a bad Chris Killen impression!!!

Oh I agree he didn't have his best games last night. I think that was down to the tactics of Barcelona and how they set up more so.

ETH soon sorted this and changed it at HT and that paid dividends.

It'll be interesting to see if he starts on Sunday as Utd definitely looked better 2nd half last night - but they were playing a Barcelona who are romping away with the La Liga title.

- Our rival.

- Owned by a horrific regime that will use any win as an excuse to sportswash.

- Wall to wall endless coverage if they win, both locally and nationally.

- Means Middlesbrough are no longer the only team in the North East to win a major trophy in the last 50 years.

If Man United win, and it'll drop off the news cycle in a few weeks and fade away, and we can enjoy Geordie failure.
Maybe I'm a bit fair minded but bar the 'horrific regime' the other points don't bother me plus my dads family came from Gateshead and were Newcastle fans as is one of my lifelong mates.

Man U 100%.

Have quite a few mates down here who are genuine ManU fans, both neighbours are ST holders and they are all sound.

As has rightly been said the media coverage and fan gloating if Newcastle win will be off the chart. At least if Man U win it will be "meh" and onto the PL/ FA Cup etc. Be forgotten about by Tuesday.

Remember our Carling Cup win and the "irrelevant / tin pot trophy" sh*t that has been levelled at us ever since??

Hmmmm .......

What a strange post. As if we haven’t currently got the motivation to be successful or win a trophy. We are competing against clubs with billionaire owners, even in the Championship.
Well yes. Perhaps I needed a sarcasm emoji, as the comment I replied to suggested not.

Unless you are saying we can't compete so don't try?

I want Newcastle to be 1-0 up after 27 seconds, winning all the way through to the 96th minute, when Ten Hag's shiny head inexplicably distracts the ref and Weghorst picks the ball up with both hands, holds it for a 45 yard jog and then throws it at Maguire's backside for a deflected equaliser. VAR do nothing just to add to the drama. Thirty minutes extra.

Rashford springs to life and smashes four goals past Karius in the first three minutes of extra time, giving the rest of us 27 minutes to mop up the urine released due to excessive laughter.

Not keen on either team to be honest, but if the skunks win, they will go on and on and on about it, so "Come on you reds"...
