So whose likely to improve us in January ?

Some fans have questioned our goalie at times, but this poor lad is definitely NOT on the shopping list.
He played for Warnock at Cardiff; Blackwell was consoling him at the end of the game.

He is another who started his professional career at Fulham like Bettinelli.

Sam Cosgrove might be worth a punt? Big guy, gives us another option up front..
My family are from Peterhead just outside Aberdeen and their verdict is that he is a duffer. A second back turned into a striker.

The last player we bought from Aberdeen was a £500k player who had 5 months on his contract and was powder puff.

Who is likely to improve us in January - Neil Warnock that’s who 💪

An important point is that we will be a much more attractive option for players than we were in the summer because of our position and form. This is unusual for us in the January window.

Seen a fair bit of Cosgrove and at times he plays like Duncan Ferguson and other times he doesn't even look like a footballer, would be a big gamble

Ahmed Musa and Mendez Laing would have been in by now if Neil wanted either of them , so can't see them coming in . ( both without a club ) Musa worth a trial .
Dwight Gayle would be my top choice
Bolasie and Grosicki either side of him would be great .
Cosgrove is a big unit but , is he good enough ? We don't know , so Neil won't take a chance on him I doubt .
Charlie Austin would also fit the bill
Wages would be an issue with the above , so maybe we will look at Scotland
Klimala , Itten , Nisbet , or even a swap deal with Britt - Roofe / Morelos
Lewis Ferguson would add goals from midfield .
Losing players is my worry .
McNair is premier league quality and if someone comes in with a £10m bid it would be considered , although I would hope for a lot more .
Like wise with Fry and Djiksteel .

You need a squad of 22 plus youngsters, we were down to 15 plus youngsters yesterday, so we are low on numbers, particualrly defensive cover - we brought in one new defender in the Summer and 3 left.

I just would not sell the younger players who are doing well their value is going up all the time.

Ref McNair if a £10m bid did come in - you have to look what you could definitetly get with that money and then decide. Now were have a shout of promotion say 15% chance you have to look at the potential £100m windfall of promotion and build that into getting £10m for a lynch pin of the current side.

I think Bolasie is a giver. I really think he will be in early doors (first week). I'm very much 'meh' but NW knows more than me.

Grosicki would be my preferred winger. He's done it for years in the champo and always impressed me. He scores goals and a very good technical footballer 'easy on the eye'

I think we are a CB and CM light. We have little or no wiggle room in either position. Although it's worse with Hall and Howson out. I'd love Alex Mowett from Barnsley. He's out of contract in the summer.

I think we are crying out for a big lad up top. Then again Fletcher is coming so by buying one you'd have 4 forwards and only play 1.

I'm as concerned about keeping Fry and Mcnair. Although both would command some fee👍
Would Mowatt bring anything more to the table that what Wing already does? as far as being a CB down.. we still have Grant Hall to come back.

McNair is worth more than £10m imo
no point selling anyone in January.. I think we've got a decent chance at the playoffs.

10mil for Mcnair? He's worth double that. I know people may laugh but premier league clubs have money so get them spending.

I think it would take stunning bids to sell either Mcnair or Fry. I'm talking crazy money. That said every player has a price.

You wouldn't be able to buy a replacement who's anywhere near as good as those 2.

He's better than Gibson was at the time we sold him. Admittedly Gibson had a year of holding his own in the premier league under his belt but McNair has so much more to his game.

Centre backs with his technical ability tend to command a premium in the current market.

I agree, honestly think you're looking at north of £20m for us to even consider it.

Yeah due to his connections with Warnock, and perhaps more importantly, having his contract terminated by Cardiff meaning he is a free agent, this one could have legs. He presumably committed something deemed as gross misconduct at Cardiff that meant his position was untenable. Speculation is pointless, but Warnock knows him and we have taken chances on several players who have had question marks over their physical health, so why not another type of flaw?

He would be a possible risk, depends what went on, but due diligence would surely be done. Everybody deserves second chances in life, as for his ability, I do not know much on this guy or how much ability and pace he has. His scoring record is around 1:6.5 for Cardiff, so around the average for a winger I guess. Maybe this move could be a win win?

You mentioned Cosgrove, not sure the money is there for a fee tbh. I think a lot will be dependant on Britt’s future as to whether we want or could afford to buy another striker. Again, whilst Cosgrove is a Yorkshire lad, is the Scottish Premier League a useful trampette for taking the leap to the Championship, or would it be just a big leap of faith?
The fee was there for Moore and we saved with Goode & Williams.. Aberdeen accepted £2m for him before he got injured. If Warnock wants his him, my betting is the club will bring him in.

Did we ever find out what happened with Mendez Laing? I have to say, every time I've seen him I've been impressed. Towards the end of last season when Cardiff beat us he pulled the back four all over the place. He's quick, strong and has an eye for a goal. Great at holding up the ball too.

I’d like to think he’s been found with loads of boro gear in his locker.

I'd be amazed if nobody is seriously looking at macnair.
Given the position were in whereby a couple of cute signings could see us pushing for the top two I’d be amazed if we entertained any bids for our players and similarly any players wanting to follow fools gold now is worth keeping because they are clearly thick as mince to leave Neil Warnocks tutelage!!
