Says Nadine.

Although not 'hijacked' thats a reflection of this place, perhaps 'dominant' is a better phrase
Mainly because of course the fkwits in charge are indefensible.

I can't get this from behind the Economist paywall but last week they had a study from Twitter itself how their platform favours conservative websites.

She outs the attacks on her down to mysogyny.
Not true.... I'd give her one.

Yeah of course they have ffs

The problem they have is they can't censor social media where they can control the narrative with tv & printed media.

Whatever they do they get called out on twitter mostly & they hate that fact because they can't control it but yet they are happy to use that when it suits them remember the fact check page they set up at the last election?

They tried to use the death of David Amess to get social media censored which didn't work either simply because his murder had nothing to do with anything said on social media didn't stop them using his death for their agenda though did it?

they will keep spouting crap like this as long as they don't have control.

She also said she doesn't agree with removing statues and other memorials connected to the slave trade and other aspects of history, such as the Bank of England's removal of paintings and busts of past governors and directors.
"You can't, with this whole cancel culture, wipe it all out like it didn't happen and pretend it didn't exist," she said. "You can't wipe away our history, either the good or the bad."

From the woman who tried to bully a BBC journalist into reporting the truth about her boss, via twitter....then deleted that tweet. You can' pretend it didn't exist, You can't wipe away YOUR history, either the good ro the bad.....although I'm struggling to identify the good from you.

I do enjoy the removing history argument. I'ld take it that we weren't erasing history, just stopping the glorification of the bad bits (like the slave trade). Unless of course Nadine and her ilk will allow us to go throw rotten eggs at such monuments still standing.

eggsactly.

If we aren't going to erase history, then lets repeatedly point out what 'Boris' promised the northern voters in regards to levelling up, let repeatedly point out that he had an over ready deal, lets repeatedly point out that no one is talking about leaving the foreign market etc.

This is a fairly left wing echo chamber of a site.

Certainly very far removed from a lot of the conversations I have with people day to day. I don't search for politics regularly on twitter but I think the reality of social media is it seems to be hijacked by extreme views rather than left or right. The balance/ nuance is the thing that is often missing.

And yet it echoes most of the conversations I have on a daily basis. Funny that. Must be the company we keep.

Is it left wing? I'd say moderate at best. I don't see any raving socialist's or communists, I haven't heard anyone wanting to destroy our economic model, only tweak it, govern it properly, to stop the rich getting richer without any controls. To stop them abusing greater society. That isn't left, it's centrist.

I keep hearing about the loony left, and socialists but really, what are theses policies that are in that category, I'd love to know.
