Starmer reneges on nationalisation plans

Surprised to not see this earlier but Rachel Reeves confirms on the today program that Labour under the leadership of Kier Starmer will not look at a nationalisation program of the railways. A policy popular with the electorate but unimportant to the leadership. The end of an integrated public transport system before it starts. At a time when it’s clear that the state must control key industries Labour are pursuing a program of business as usual.

A chance was given and it’s been blown from my point of view.

My vote is now lost. Looks like SKS took a leaf out of Boris Johnson’s book and made promise after promise with zero intention of delivering. Another liar In our midst.

So go and lose it then, along with all your leftie mates who voted for that policy in 2019 when in case you didn't notice we lost.
At least when the Tories win the next election because all you good socialists kept your principles and didn't vote Labour, you will be able to look yourself in the mirror and say 'Well I've kept my principles' whilst the rest of us all starve and travel around on our privatised railway and hope we can afford an appointment with our new GP.

Not only did we lose but we lost big.
Worst election result since 1935.

Leftie, shows how much you know. Surprised you haven’t thrown a communist accusation out 😂😂😂 Very clever reply. I certainly will vote for who I want. I’ve seen nothing to suggest much will change under Labour. I haven’t seen anything to suggest training for doctors and nurses should be free so I don’t see how the NHS will be greatly improved. Is Starmers £15 an hour campaign still live? Do he still support that? I hope so, that’ll put food on the table for sure. Can’t say I’ve heard him mention anything recently.

Not starting well though is it. At a time when trust is at rock bottom and when SKS has attacked Johnson over his lies, he’s at it himself. If he and his team don’t believe in the policy then why say he did?

Yet only this morning the opposite is being said? What is it? Why the confusion? Why isn’t the message clear. FFS we’re attacking the conservatives for mixed messages and constant changing of positions and Labour are at it themselves. Shame about the utilities. Suppose the French will benefit at least 👍🏼

Reeves shouldn't have included rail in her reply and Starmer clarified it. The only confusion is that you never took the 2 minutes it took me to find the answer after reading your OP.

So now that it has been clarified I assume you will retract your original statement.

So she’s gone into an interview and fu9ked up then. And then it’s only taken 8 hours to clarify the position via an obscure journalist.
Nothing on Labour, Starmer or Reeves socials. Fabulous communication certainly avoids confusion. Not mixed messages at all.

Shame about the control the gas, electricity and water barons will maintain.

Let’s see how the conference goes and what ideas are floated, not just sound bites and empty words.

Take it you have to been following the infighting in Labour which has been reported in the Forde report
As a member of the Labour party I am not in the slightest bothered about what went on in the past. All that concerns me is ensuring that whenever the next election comes, the Tories do not win it.

I am sure that the political editor of the Daily Mirror, who along with ITV broke the story of lockdown parties, and is about to take over as political editor of the Guardian will not be the slightest bit interested in the fact that you consider her to be an obscure journalist. Apparently she had to report it because Fred from the Morning Star hadn't heard about it yet.

Pippa Crerar is hardly an obscure journalist, the one that has essentially brought down the entire Johnson government, yeah that obscure one.

You started a post without checking first, you've been corrected yet continue throwing mud anyway. Reeves made an error when questioned about re nationalisation and shouldn't have included rail.

But regardless, it has been corrected. So again, will you retract your OP?
