I reckon I could give you the answers for those you’d likely receive off him.
I doubt the club will know of those players, I don’t know of those players and the club has a very small scouting team (Scott’s words in his last interview)
We sold Akpom because his contract was up in 12 months and if we didn’t we’d have lost him on a free, as he didn’t want to sign a new contract. That’s just good business sense. Same with Tav. Spence represented good value for a player that 1) didn’t want to be here and 2) wasn’t in our plans.
Didn’t spend the Rogers money because they didn’t think there was anyone available at a fair price. Had targets, but clubs knew we had cash after the sale and asked for unrealistic fees. So we walked away.
We loaned Ayling because Smith got injured. No other reason. That’s not going against the model, that’s covering injury.
It’s better for our younger keepers to play regularly rather than sit as third choice. Jones will only play in a worst case scenario. Better an ageing journeyman sitting as third choice rather than a promising youngster.
Absolutely no chance they’ll rethink season ticket prices. They’d have to refund those who’ve already paid.
Haven’t thrown the towel in, Rogers wanted to go. Crooks wanted to go. Can’t blame either of them. Better not to keep players around who want to be elsewhere.
