Strikers We Had Between Slaven and Akpom

Lita tended to run as fast as he could in a straight line and whack the ball as hard as he could at goal.

Not bad in a raw talent, but he was still doing it when he was 28. Never developed the subtlety to compliment his physical qualities.

Still playing though, and I'll credit him for that.

I wasn't the only one then! I thought exactly the same about Ramseys goal. Reminded me so much of Wilko's goals against Newcastle
. He scored 24 in his first season for us but 9 of them were cup goals. He also scored 15 league goals for us in the first Premier League season. A really good player for us.
 
Akpom has been incredible, but I wouldn't be comparing him with our Premier League strikers, it's obviously harder to score in a higher division when you're in a midtable/bottom half side.

Wilko got 14 in that PL season, plus one cup.
Did well all the same.
 
I think it’s a bit harsh to include Caleb Folan in this list, actually. He hardly could’ve scored 20 goals in the 58 minutes he played in a Boro shirt before getting injured and never to be seen again.
 
Just noticed Akpom is only 20 goals off the Riverside era record.

Assombalonga with 47 goals in 161 appearances.

Akpom is currently on 27 in 70 appearances.

If he stays here after this season and continues to play as well as he has heen, you'd expect him to break that.

Not surprised by that. Every time he scores at home he seems to get 2 goals! Must of been at least 5 occasions now where he’s scored 2 or more at home

That record is home and away, not actually 100% sure what the home record is.

Unless I've miscounted, Viduka got 31 home goals, which I would guess is it, Assombalonga only got 21 at home.

Akpom is currently on 18 goals at the Riverside.
