I doubt very much it's immigrants she hates, more poor people, or working people or people that don't go to the 'right' (no pun intended) universities... or people who didn't go to universities & people that don't have a certain amount of money..

The Mayor of the district where the conference was to be held said something along the lines of ‘ The far right are not welcome here’.

Public safety according to the mayor. Which isn't too far fetched given how provocative a conclave of superstar racists could be in a city with known ethnic tensions.

Of course Fascism shouldn't have a platform, but it involves a lot more than having far right views. Do these conferences definitely cross that line?

Another mayor on another day could decide a Socialist meeting is too far left for his liking and brand it as Stalinism.

In any case, banning the meeting probably gives them more publicity than they would otherwise have. And maybe even get them new supporters.

They have plenty of influential supporters - in number and, probably more importantly, financially.
Whatever they get as a result of this will be a drop in the ocean.

I agree with your overall point tho - it’s a fine line.

But ……we have kind of set a precedent by
making it a potential offence for making a noise during a demonstration.
And
Arresting someone for having a blank placard at a demonstration\
That’s pretty far right (IMO)
