Sunderland Away Ticket Info

I very much doubt MFC agreed to it.

I've been told we did.

You know what I would do if I didn't agree to it? Put out a statement on the club's website stating how we disagreed with the decision, we asked for X amount of tickets but Northumbria Police and Sunderland City Council’s Regulatory Committee refused to budge.

You know what I would do if I'd agreed to it? Say nothing and hope everyone blame's Sunderland and Northumbria police instead. Which is exactly what they have done.

I do think MFC could be a lot more transparent with the fact the allocation is pathetic and how many fans we have in each points category.

I don't know why MFC are so secretive about the whole situation.

It would help us fans out a lot with planning etc and help us understand the situation a lot more.

MFC have a meeting coming up with Sunderland - planning the event. I don't believe they will want to make any statements ahead of this meeting. Middlesbrough Supporters Forum have sent some questions that we hope will be answered.

I would love to know how many of the allocation actually go on sale to the priority points system.
Not holding my breath.
1500?
My hunch is that is the main reason for all the secrecy and lack of comms. Take away all the people who can actually get them before they go on sale to the 220 pp batch and there will probably be far fewer than 1900!!!

Then people will kick right off if they have 220 or 200 pp but don't get them because of hospitality season cards!

There's also tickets for MFC employees, Bulkhaul employees.
No idea how many because it's never disclosed.

Leeds got 5k tickets at the Riverside one season to minimise the number of away fans in the home end. Problem there being Leeds have a good following within the TS postcode area so this alone wouldnt stop the issue

Surely this approach makes more sense to have minimum disruption in the home end?

Sensible approaches and SAFC are not compatible.

a mate of mine got a half season ticket last season and renewed this season, its in the east stand, not exactly directors box, but it has access to some lounge or other (not sure as don't sit in there) its a bit more pricey than bog standard but not bells and whistle. Never realised they go straight to the top of the queue in situations like this!

Players seem to get quite a few tickets too.

First batch of tickets go on sale at 3pm today - they could sell out today.

Could be a lot of quiet Boro fans in the Home ends, because Sunderland home tickets wil not sell out.

There were 46 tickets made available to corporate/hospitality season card holders this morning at 10:00am.

They went in seconds.

It's the Hardwick Bar. It's really good value if you would pay for a meal and a drink or two anyway. No free booze but a decent meal, drink in a proper glass and somewhere to wait after the match whilst the car parks clear.

Yeah my mate's dad has one similar, it's the Hardwick Bar.

It's pretty basic, it's just a fancy sports bar and allows you to get decent food and access to a pay bar. Programme on entry and you sit in the east upper where the MFC is.

Most importantly though, you secure your away tickets before everyone else.

I don't know how long he's had it for but he certainly wouldn't have 220 points if he was in the priority scheme, he's been to just the Coventry and Blackburn away games this season and he's already secured his ticket for Sunderland.

Everyone will be clamouring to relocate to this area next season, to take advantage of these perks!!!!!

It surprises me that people are more willing to argue about the points system than the fact that corporates get their hands on tickets in effect 'under the counter' before they are even available to those with points.
I was just thinking that.

The elitism is what jumps out at me from this thread.

It's totally unfair that some prawn sandwich munching to**er gets priority over fans that travel away most weeks.

Especially at a club like Boro this forlock tugging towards the hospitality brigade feels very out of place.

To be fair the corporates hardly ever snap up any tickets. And as mentioned they got less than 50 for Sunderland.

The priority system works - this is 1 game I've known in nearly 8 years where not everyone who wants a ticket won't get one. And those that do get tickets are, apart from say 50, those that go home and away every week.

Most people probably aren't aware that's happening though.

I wouldn't have known if it hadn't just been mentioned in this thread.

I got a ticket through the hospitality priority window this morning (we have a box at the Riverside, and have done for 10+ years).... but have also been to every single away game bar two from last season and this season so far.

That's 35 out of the last 37 away fixtures, and every home game.

Don't tar everyone with the same brush.. 👍

It came up a few months ago on a similar thread. It is mentioned on the Boro website that these corporates get priority but it doesn't say how and to what extent. I'm not tarring anyone except the club which is far from transparent on the issue.
