Obviously late to the game with this one. Just started watching the third series (season) and overall a thoroughly enjoyable feel good show.

One thing that irks me is, why don't any of those fans who watch it in the pub go to to any games at all?

Also how come every single game is televised in the pub. It's either:

A) Richmond AFC never have a single game at 3pm on a Saturday and are always televised or...
B) The landlady has a dodgy stick and she is illegally streaming the games.

Its a great series...It does seem a bit weird at first to UK audiences but I think its because it was originally aimed at US audiences where watching the game and supporting your 'local' franchise team from home and the bar is much more common than in the UK for a whole host of reasons, including the fact that the games in the NFL, NBA, NHL etc are all available to watch.

I just couldn’t get into it. Was it a comedy, a drama, a comedy/drama? I just couldn’t work out what it was and the fact I didn’t find it funny didn’t help. Fair play if people like it though, I wanted to like it.

No spoilers from me but the ending was just a bit too obvious for my liking.

Otherwise loved it. Watched it again all the way thru once I finished it.

Also late to the game with this, currently halfway through series 3. Bloody brilliant and very funny. Wasn’t interested when it came out because I thought it was an American comedy, turns out to be a British comedy with two Americans in it.

I don't know about that. Pretty common sight in north London to see a packed out pub when arsenal or spurs are playing. Or utd and Liverpool for that matter. Couldn't get my local to put the playoff game on last year cos city were playing.

It is a bit corny though isn't it? Or at least it felt like it in the first half of series 1 when I was watching it.

I really enjoyed it.
At first I was confused as it isn’t really funny and the realism is at children’s tv levels. It reminded me a bit of Jossie’s Giants.

It’s not really about football. It’s more of a character based thing - the setting just happens to be a football club. You don’t need to like football to enjoy it although there are some football jokes and references in it. I found it quite uplifting.

Do yourself a favour and watch the very first episode again vefore the finale, it's very clearly done how one mirror the other.

life is corny and obvious if you embrace its equal measure of power and stupidity.

Believe.

EDIT: and yes, she is streaming it on a dodgy stick

Yeah, I agree with that. S1 is superb but S2 and S3 drop off to the extent we haven't finished S3 yet.
