* The Original Unofficial "Official" Boro v Rotherham United Match-Day Thread *

It has definitely killed the game although up to now there hasn't"t been much to kill so far. Archer and Akpom haven't seem much of the ball - its one of the scrappiest games of football I have seen in the Carrick era and no doubt in part a result of players not wanting to get injured after Hackney started up hostilities with that totally unnecessary and reckless challenge.

For anyone with replays, Hugill just fell over. Paddy was covering anyway! Oh, and it was just like when Chuba Akpom was brought down earlier, when the referee never ever gave a free kick. This ref is a joke. (n)

We are our own worst enemies, getting involved in nonsense.Dijksteel has been poor and just makes poor decisions.

Scrappy game as others have mentioned. Softest red card ever.

Ref, not going to bother saying what I think, it’s already been covered.

Use this game to stay sharp now, practice being pinned back etc.

I thought it was a risky decision by Djiksteel to grab Hugill & end up on the floor with him just before he ran into the box.
He gave the ref' a decision to make & he made it.

For me hugil cleverly brings Djiksteel down. I thought it was offside in the build up.
Watching it again it looks more like Hugill throws himself into Djiksteel than anything else. Compare to the "challenges" that they have been perpetrating on Akpom...

Oh and the linesman at our end needs to revise his understanding of the offside rule and what to do with his flag when he spots it.
