The games come thick and fast.
Michael Carrick.
"We`ve lost two games. Big deal. We move on"!

Michael Carrick was proud of the boy`s performance against the league leaders on Friday night. The movement of the players - particularly off the ball was impressive. He highlighted how Burnley have been consistent all season and saw a lot of positives, inspite of losing 2-1. Carrick said asny disappointment was a result of how far we have come this season and how high we have set the bar at the club and of the team. It was the only defeat at The Riverside, under Michael Carrick`s tenure, in 12 games! W8 D3 L1. That`s some record - and something we cant forget in a hurry. Our last home defeat was under Leo`s caretakership, on Saturday 15th October v Blackburn Rovers!
The Burnley result was disappointing for us, but not totally unexpected. We gave them more than a run for their money. Burnley didnt find it easy: the theatrics of looking like they had been scythed every time they faced a tackle, lead to an inordinate number of questionable free kicks from the ref. Burnley deserve their just reward for an outstanding season. They have few relics of the old Dyche regime left in their squad. They deserved to celebrate at the end with their fans in the far corner. It ignited that spark of how we will feel when we get promoted - if not this season - then next!
Meanwhile, its business as usual for Michael Carrick. No time to dwell on defeat. Time to quickly look forward to Bristol on Bank holiday Monday. Carrick appeared genuinely happy for the lads after the match: said as a coach and as a man, who knows how to take defeat as well as how to win. We start from scratch and go again. He summed it up at the end of his post-match reaction to BBC Tees: "We`ve lost two games. Big deal. We move on"! Well said.
