The weekend beer and music thread

Evening folks hope you're all looking forward to the weekend and the game against Swansea. We desperately need a win and the results recently have been a little worrying. The sheer volume of injuries is catching up with us and we need some luck from somewhere. Swansea is never an easy place to go to let's hope we can three points tomorrow even if it's a scruffy injury time deflection off a passing pigeon flying past the goal!

Not tucking into any alcohol tonight as I was at the football lads annual Christmas curry night last night, so will be a couple of cuppas for me I think.

To kick us off here's a great Skid Row track.

I had a shattered back tooth out last night. It was a grim business. My body went into shock I think afterwards. Feel a bit defiled and mortal today. Like I'm wearing David Wheater's jaw. And as though Dean Glover has punched me hard on the bridge of the nose. So tonight it's a few black sheep imperial Yorkshire stout (8.5%) which has legendary calming powers. Plus Thoughtforns by Lush.

I've just had a run to Northallerton for a little bit of Christmas shopping and the High Street looks spectacular, especially Barkers. It's funny how a few lights can get you in the Christmas spirit and get you to loosen the purse strings.

On the way home we called at the Peking Garden Express for a takeaway. It was as good as ever and all washed down with a glass of Japuir.

Beer wise, I have a collection of pale ales and stouts from the Advent Calendar and I will participate in a couple of them tonight but will be taking it easy. I'm off to Cambridge tomorrow to visit family and no doubt will overindulge in both food and drink. My favourite beer out of the Advent Calendar so far as been the Crackendale, it was really good.

I know it's a bit early for Christmas songs but I've chosen this one from Dave Bowie and Bing Crosby.

Have a good weekend folks, and take care of each other.

Music from these ladies. As said on new music thread I was asked by Marina La Torraca at a gig a couple of weeks ago if I could spam napalm records as much as possible. So if you do like it, please like the video on YouTube. Thanks. Have a good weekend everybody.

Not a massive fan of the track, but I'd quite happily let them bore me to death with their conversation.

It's been another tough week for me and my family and I can't see things getting better anytime soon. Christmas is definitely cancelled this year. Not looking for sympathy here. It is what it is.

It would've been lovely if I could've made it down there for the game tomorrow but that's not going to happen. I miss Wales and it's been way too long since I last visited the place. Swansea are kind of my second team, but that goes out the window when they're playing us obviously. Hopefully we can get some kind of result down there.

No music or beer for me yet. Enjoy your evening boys and girls.
