The Weller fella @ The Globe

Not Weller related but went to The Globe tonight for the second time but first time to see a band. Kaiser Chiefs brilliant as always but enjoyed the venue. Loud but not deafening which in the modern era is a bonus. Great venue and will watch their upcoming events more closely.

Been twice and loved it.

When I first started going to gigs (very early 70's) it was all about the place and the sound. Now a lot of criticism is about what beer is sold, the food, the toilets etc.(much like football critique). Is that because I'm reading the reports of wrinklies?

Thought he was very good.

Made me chuckle when he left the stage for the second time, and so many thought that was the end of the gig, so were trying to get a quick getaway to beat the rush but then came scurrying back when he came back on to play Town Called Malice.

I have to agree, with @The_Lizards_Jumpers though. The amount of middle aged/older generation who lack any sort of class do put a dampener on these type of gigs.

Also, the queue's at the bars were absolutely ridiculous.

Saying all that, I do hope The Globe and other venues around this area continue to attract good gigs.

The Jam were groundbreaking, exciting, and superb - everything he's done then has been pretentious 5hite - as has been said above, so far up his own ar5e it's embarrassing

His best work since The Jam was with Death in Vegas although that was eclipsed by what they did with Hope Sandoval. And that was eclipsed by what Hope sang with Jesus and Mary Chain.

As mentioned by a poster earlier in thread there was loads of room near the front of the stage.
You had to push through the lurkers at the back to find it.
Great gig - loved his music since I was a kid back in the seventies - so to get the chance to see someone of his stature playing local was fabulous.

Good to see the pubs in the town packed before and after the show

Was there last night. Polished performance from the Chiefs. Very entertaining set.

Did you see Youth Sector - bit different.

Parked in Wellington St C.P. for the first time. Absolute carnage trying to get out.

We seen them quite a few times and they're always full of energy.
Saw Youth Sector but I'm pretty certain we'd already seen them support the Kaisers last year.
I had the same problem with that car park last time I visited. It was around 5.30 then so I put it down to people leaving work at the same time. Wasn't certain though so we got a taxi over.
