These people

I don't think the countrys getting the issue with public service strikes.
The issue is not the short term disruptiom caused by the strikes. The issue is the NHS is hemorrhaging Nurses and education Teachers who are leaving the profession on mass because of the poor pay and working conditions. The great resignation you seem to be supporting Fatcat will be a catastrophy.
You may be upset about Christmas and disruption but that's the least of the problems the country will be facing.
You could always "get on your bike" As Norman Tebbit suggested

So when the rail and road disruptions impact many other people on low salaries who are struggling and they can’t get to work - you fully support that?
Supporting huge profits by Oil Companies and our Government paying our money into railway company private shareholders - whilst denying workers a living wage, is causing people to "struggle". Passengers being forced to pay the highest railfare`s in Europe [per passenger mile] and crippling commuter fares, is whats causing people to "struggle".

People on zero hours contracts are not the only ones using foodbanks and clothes banks. Children arent living in poverty because of the RMT being given a huge mandate by its members. The RCN has never been on strike in its entire existence - but Nurses have died to save others from dying. The poor are the ones effected most by rising costs and many cant afford the luxury of a car or trains. Thats not because they are idle low-productivity scroungers - but a product of a system which piles profits into the pockets of the idle rich, whilst ordinary people [which maybe includes you?] are expected to suffer in silence.

Its a hard life, but you`l have to navigate a few potholes for now. You can make the choice not to travel at Christmas. Thousands of Nurses, Doctors, Domestics, Community Carers and Care Assistants wont have the choice - because they work 24/7 365 days a year - to care for the sick who dont decide when to be ill.

Christmas is a "struggle" for many. Ask any ex-soldier living homeless on the street. I bet he doesnt blame Mick Lynch. He just wants a warm bed and a roof over his head.(y)

Me, me, me conservatism. And by the way, what exactly are they conserving, apart from their own riches? Ordinary people are striking because they have had more than enough of being laughed at and abused by the ignorant asreholes who govern them. And by the look of things, the asreholes' own lickspittle backbench MPs are voting with their feet too, before they get utterly humiliated in the next election. But you keep defending them and side-swiping the unfortunate people on the next rung down. It's really not a good look.

Daftcat is going to have a meltdown when he sees this
Not so sure I’ll heal e a meltdown but your apparent glee over seeing this is part of the frustration. The country is on its knees both financially and in terms of peoples mental health - so coordinated action designed to kick it in the b***ks will achieve nothing but more misery for the nation - it’s pure self harm. I don’t think I’m in such a minority as you would have me to believe for being against this. The below is an interesting read and maybe a bit more balanced than the clique!

What or who is in this clique you speak of?

That's how strikes work matey.

Classic Tory "I'm alright jack"ery here isn't it. I honestly think Tories are so selfish and self centred they can't comprehend people struggling and wanting to earn a living wage
He doesn’t care, he’s happy to see people skipping meals, freezing, juggling priority bills just so he can have his Christmas without interruption.

I’m glad it’s only him that has expressed this on this thread, it shows the majority are still decent human beings.

Fatcat is one of the most frustrating posters on here. When he keeps away from politics he contributes some excellent stuff to the board.

However, when it does come to politics some of his postings are awful. Its not a difference in views, there are a number of posters on the board that are of a different political viewpoint to my own, who whilst I disagree with their views they are respectful, make quite reasoned arguments and show a little tact and humility when needed.

Fatcat on the other hand posts utterly ridiculous stuff in order to stir things up posing them as 'just asking a question'.

He then makes daft claims of people bullying / harassing him or perpetuating the myth that there is some sort of clique when in reality he just hates being pulled up by those that question his ridiculous posts.

Also goes missing when you ask him about the mountain of Tory sh1t that has devastated this country or claims he didn't see the posts / threads.

His 'I'm alright Jack' approach rightly pees off most on here as he posts his rubbish knowing that we live in one of the most deprived and left behind areas in the UK.

He singularly refuses to acknowledge that these strikes aren't aimed at disrupting the lives of people just for craic, failing to understand that its needed to bring this disgraceful government down so that a new government can at least start to close the gap and start helping the most vulnerable rather than taking even more from them to feather the nests of the mega rich.

Quite simply he is either not very bright, which isn't the case in my opinion, or he is some sort of Tory troll who tries to stir things then claims to be some sort of victim. That, IMHO, is even worse than not being very bright because its intentional and highlights his stirring tendencies.

Great shame as away from politics I enjoy his posts especially around boxing.

All a bunch of idiots in Fatcat’s eyes….

Wonder if he also considers these as idiots?

Heathrow staff/ground handlers
Criminal Bar association
Various dockers (liverpool/Felixstowe)
Refuse collection services
University staff
6th form staff
BT group workers
Tube workers
Security staff (Eurostar)
Cleaners and caterers (Department of Business)
Civil servants

Not to mention those currently being ballotted

Firemen
Midwives

…and whichever other groups of essential workers who are/have/will strike….The ones that we were all banging pots and pans on our front doorsteps to support (while they literally risked their lives) such a short time ago. All idiots, in your typical narrow minded Tory eyes.

It’s not possible that the penny hasn’t dropped for fatcat yet. If it is, and he’s not just trolling or another one of the ‘hilarious’ made up characters of this board, then I guess he’s just a really horrible person.

He needs to look much closer to home to see where the blame lies and own it. No more hiding behind covid and Ukrainian war.
The Tories have completely ****ed the U.K. and people have had enough.
