These people

If you're that worried about being stuck in heavy traffic, get up earlier or travel late at night when it's quiet.

I commuted from central London to Boro at Christmas for years. Certain days are often a nightmare at the wrong time, or if there's an incident. Don't travel at the wrong time.
Ah that's just fatcat being a Tory. He says something unutterably selfish. Then when someone picks him up on it he tried to flip it around to pretend they are selfish.

It's s really poor trait

probably most supporting these don’t need to travel at Christmas. Probably live in close quarters to their family so won’t be impacted- but as long as you are alright!

That’s not the case for some of us.
T'was the night before Christmas, and all through the nation,
There was misery, poverty and great deprivation,
Some stockings were empty, some fridges were bare,
The heating turned off, little money to spare.
Rishi Sunak was cosy and quaffing champagne,
Cognac and Port so he’s feeling no pain,
Stuffing his chops on goose flesh and gammon,
Caviar, Stilton and the finest smoked salmon.
The homeless are shivering in cardboard containers,
Ex-Servicemen, youngsters, both Leave and Remainers,
The nurses and doctors all still searching for beds,
With a shortage of staff, of money and meds.
The Moggs singing carols with moguls and bankers,
Hedge funders, financiers and various vvankers,
Admiring his baubles and pulling his crackers,
Rejoicing that he's got us all by the knackers.
Your Gran's in the corridor, still on the trolley
While the Chancellor's counting the last of his lolly,
And Grandad’s in pieces, stemming his tears,
Though they’ve paid their dues these past sixty years.
But hey, Goves on the sherry and is quite off his t*ts,
While his missus is battered and doing the splits,
And Drunken Smith is a singing along with the Pogues,
With the rest of the mob and a few Russian rogues.
And the kids who are dreaming of gifts in the morning,
Won’t get them- their benefits were stopped without warning,
While those whose dosh is in off-shore accounts,
Will be rubbing their hands as the grand total mounts.
And the Waspi woman alone in her kitchen,
Has long given up on Dancer and Blitzen,
She was robbed of her pension, they don’t give a shyte,
That she’s freezing and hungry on Christmas Eve night.
And now, here’s the end of this so festive story
Dont forget, stop voting Tory!!!!

This is utterly brilliant

See Zahawi played the Putin card this morning. "These strikes are what Putin want" apparently.

Funny he should mention Putin, because I think its accepted by pretty much everyone that Putin wanted brexit. Didn't stop him voting for it or his party pushing through the hardest possible form of it did it? The cretin.

what an utter c u next Tuesday that man is. A snake even by tory standards.

The man is utter scum.

He actually said “the last thing we need is to be divided” while representing a party whose whole reason for existing is to cause division.

Yeah those nurses on £20k a year really need to send a message to Putin 🙄

He’s probably busy….out chucking eggs at striking lolllipop ladies somewhere.
Not the lollipop ladies as well - outrageous.

I did watch that clip - not sure where he gets the 31000 from as a starting salary as it see that would only be with possible overtime (london weighting) , starting salary seems to be closer to 20k.

The thing that does disgust me is the fact they took away the nurses bursary, there’s one thing knowing you are going into a badly paid profession but to have to get into debt to do so is ridiculous. The gvt presumably realising they can get away with this as people are still joining the profession - I am Defintley against this!

8% over two years. So, 4%.
The RDG said the proposed reforms of working practices included:

  • Formalising current voluntary working arrangements across the railways to meet the growing demand for weekend leisure travel, particularly on Sundays.

    Enforcing longer working week.

  • Use of part-time contracts and flexible working rosters and patterns to encourage a more diverse workforce who can fit shifts around other commitments

    Zero hour contract gig workers.
    .
  • The creation of a new “multi-skilled station worker” role, with station staff trained and equipped to take on a range of responsibilities aimed at “better meeting the needs of customers”.

Tie a broom to the worker's @rse while he still does his current duties.

Plus many railway workers haven’t had a pay rise for 2 or 3 years, so no doubts the media will paint it as an ’8 % payrise‘ but will neglect to mention that’s come over 4 or 5 years.

So they are right to strike then surely?!

They are generally caring people by nature, striking may lead to pain and suffering to the people they normally support and worse case unnecessary deaths. Given I don’t agree with the other industries striking I can’t say that nurses are right to strike.
So you really do just want them to accept whatever crap the government decides to throw at them then?

Wow.

Wow.
It’s not that binary is it - I could say so you want innocent people to die - wow.

I think they should fight for their rights.
