Let’s try to get a couple clean sheets and give the lads the confidence that they can keep the opposition out.

Not something I’d usually advokate, especially with it not being Carricks style, and if results were inconsistent I’d think we should persist as we are hoping that the new / young players gain confidence.

However results are so poor at present I think we should go to back to basics for a couple games and try to keep a couple clean sheets and then build from there.

Could help the lads confidence.

Given how many goals we concede due to mistakes rather than opposition overwhelming us with quality, I fear that our bus may not be in the best condition for any kind of manoeuvre, let alone parking.

I would argue it's not the defenders, it's the CMs. Just not tracking back, giving the opposition a massive area in front of our CBs to set themselves and shoot (score).

Honestly believe that CM is the biggest defensive problem we have. Yesterday Blackburn just cut through us at will, especially first half. Shocking.

we tried to play cautious in the first half at blackburn. we just dont do sitting back. we need to be aggressive at get at teams. not over pass it sideways or sit back.

I was having the same conversation with the bloke next to me yesterday. So many times Blackburn turned and just ran through our midfield.

I think Hackney is brilliant when we are on top but he’s starting to look like a luxury player when we are out of possession (which is more often this season). How many times does he win a tackle? Often feels like he’s chasing shadows. Probably not helped by the fact that Howson isn’t quite as effective as he has been over the years.

Teams are still finding it very easy to isolate our full backs as well, which is often leading to being overloaded in the wide areas. Thought we set up way too narrow yesterday. Blackburn constantly had a wide player in acres of space. The full backs seemed to be defending the sides of the 18 yard box.

Above all else though. The complete lack of Tempo and effective press was so disappointing yesterday. Took us to go 2-0 down in order to wake up and play with actual purpose.

We need to be solid through the middle of the pitch for me it’s 352.

Three CBs prob VDB, lenihan and fry. Giving a spare man centrally.

3 in the middle of the pitch, but time to drop Howson he’s been terrible every game since he returned, looks a yard slower than everyone. Play obrien, Hackney and either McGree or Barlaser.

There’s cover to stop people running through the middle of the pitch and enough on the ball ability to get good possession

Finally up top two from Coburn, lath and Forss. Pace and strength.

Wide can be Engel/bangura one side and Jones on the other.
