Tory just got xxxxed by Tory audience on Qusetion Time.

Is being sent to Rwanda really worse than being sent to Middlesbrough, Luton or Wigan? It's supposed to be a deterrent to reduce the number of people applying for asylum in the UK but if people are willing to come and live in those places then they are probably willing to live in Rwanda so it doesn't work as a deterrent.

They stated last night the Exeter MP was Labour, and had held the seat since 1997.

But Bruce stated the majority of the audience were Tories........🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

It isn't. They've even admitted in the past they fill it with Tories
From the BBC QT website -

Question Time selects local audiences which reflect a broad range of political views. People apply to be in the audience for Question Time via the website and by phone and producers get in touch to ask questions on their previous voting record and future voting intentions, whether they have party political membership and also how they voted in the EU Referendum. This is to ensure a range of views are represented in the audience. Occasionally, if production staff feel any group or view is under-represented in the applications, they will promote the programme through relevant local media channels to encourage people to apply.

Question Time is a national programme which must be relevant to audiences across the UK. A diverse range of British opinion must be represented. In observing due impartiality, political fairness, and our intent to represent that wide range of views, our audience broadly reflects the electoral map of the nation in which we are broadcasting. That is primarily guided by past and present electoral support, with the most recent general election of most importance. We might also give some consideration to local political sentiment.

Yeah, Bruce has said on the past though the pick Tories and brexiters. Quite a few Tory plants have been outed

I'm not sure if you watched the programme or are just commenting blind.

I did watch yesterday's edition.

It seemed reasonably balanced to me.

I don't watch it regularly. I really doubt that the BBC would not really try to make it representative of the general public though. The BBC is, and has to be impartial. The people who think it is not impartial are generally not impartial, either to the left or right.

You couldn't put SNP voters in the audience when QT is in Exeter, but it is representative of the broad political make up of the country.

Even though the presenter stated there were more Tory voters there than voters of any other party? Or that they've had audiences completely made up of Leave voters, but never an audience completely made up of Remain voters?

.
I would say this isn't true. There seems a solid right wing slant to their news output. Especially question time. The presenter is a Tory and shows clear bias to how she lets people on the right answer compared to the left.

BBC impartial???? 😳😳

No. Just keep an eye on the BBC1 news for non headline stories that put the Tories in a bad light.....they are never covered. Or the really bad ones are spun with Kuenssberg spinning it expertly, or toning it down.

BBC news got infiltrated by Tories a few years ago - Sharpe, Gibb, Davie, McAndrew etc.

If you mean the edition from Essex (last week?) then that was billed as a special programme to explore how attitudes of leavers to Brexit had changed in seven years. That seems reasonable on the anniversary of the referendum. Not much point in inviting Remain voters. It was a one off, and billed as such.

Question Time - there is a post that shows the breakdown of the political (?!?!) Parties on the show. Dominated by Tory/ UKIP/Tufton St think tanks/ RW media figures.

Then Labour / Left journalists.

Then Lib Dem / SNP etc.

Think there have been 3? 4? Green party representatives on over the last few years (probably all Lucas).

Unbiased?

Whenever I watch QT I always get the sense that Tories are brought on to be humiliated and that Fiona Bruce does her best to facilitate this.

I think that's just a natural side effect of allowing so many Tories to go on. Especially at the moemtn when they are such a talentless, gormless bunch trying to either defend the indefensible or stoke up petty little culture wars

I get that but I do see Fiona Bruce asking the audience if they approve of things Tories are doing knowing full well there will be a negative response, especially with regards to the cost of living crisis.

Bruce has a bad habit of allowing the Tory/RWM/Tufton St person to ramble on then when the Labour/sympathetic leftie starts to put their point across either talks over the top of them or asks really cutting questions - which she doesn't do to the Tories/chums. Has a really bad habit for doing that - and the more senior the Tory figure the more easy she's tends to go on them.

Exactly this. How anyone can think she's not a Tory enabler is beyond me.
