Trump again

Go follow Noel Casler on Twitter. He used to work on the apprentice for 6 years, and he has nothing but stories to tell about the Trumps. He didn't sign an NDA, so he's pretty scathing and he's been backed up by a lot of people corroborating his tales.

I mentioned this before on another thread but some legal analysts in the US have pointed out that calling on the populace to "Liberate" their states while making a reference to 2nd amendment gun rights (in at least one case) is getting perilously close to encouraging an armed revolt against the democratically elected authorities in those states

Until he is out of office there won't be any legal comeback because he has surrounded himself with asskissers.
By any measure of leadership he has failed miserably. By any measure of decency he has failed spectacularly.

As an aside, his 'mate' Tom Brady has been caught breaching the stay in place order in Tampa citing that he needed space to exercise. He is renting former NY Yankees start Derek Jeter's house.
My heart bleeds for poor Tom, how is he coping here:

First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

Ha ha I wish I’d wrote that piece on Trump - summed him up perfectly ✔️ Can’t stand the bloke, and I find it pretty hard to dislike anyone - even that dumb smirk he’s always pulling is contrived and fake, just like he is

🐔
Trump is really beautiful, yeah really beautiful.

Watching their latest press conference now, the vice president speaks more sense than the actual man in charge. Walmart producing 8.4 million gowns.

Fauci on now discussing a roadmap to opening up America again. A 3 phase plan that relies on all states finishing the same phase at the same time.
I wonder if our government are watching....

Also reminds the America public that Coronavirus will still be around in the autumn.

The biggest thing that struck me today is him signing the order preventing immigration for the next 60 days and can be extended at will. Is that his ultimate presidential goal?

Fortunately, all the over-the-air channels here are carrying Jersey 4 Jersey. A Covid fundraiser with Bruce Springsteen, John Bon Jovi, John Stewart and others performing from home.

"nobody ever took care of farmers like I've took care of farmers"

It's entertaining to watch live. Even the journalists are thick as ****.

"Trump has today stopped all immigration... "

That's what he'd like you to think. In practical terms his order barely scratches the surface. A few thousand perhaps - who probably couldn't travel anyway. Big corporates have stopped him doing most of what he wanted. It lasts for 60 days and doesn't affect H1B or H2B visas or farm workers. It's a PR stunt in an election year.

In the USA the president can never really change anything. The administrative state makes most decisions (as is also true elsewhere). In the USA this has been achieved through a conscious effort by Congress to transfer legislative power away from themselves to "experts" in government departments. All Trump can do is issue more or less ineffective executive orders. He can't spend money. And he couldn't even get an effective immigration order past his administrators at a time when there is at least a logical reason to restrict foreign workers. He can't even fire people who actively worked to overthrow his presidency. If he gets another term that might change, but the virus will probably scupper a second term.

So he may say some pretty crazy stuff but in practice he can't really do anything. He's not even as militaristic as Obama. Though he certainly rattles more sabres.
