Vera spotted in Redcar

I quite liked it at first until I realised that in every single episode the characters are very very similar in their behaviour, and it is always the nice and pleasant character that seems to be on the periphery that is the villain. And everyone is always too busy with their day job to talk to the police, despite the fact that a murder has taken place on their doorstep. Everyone lies all the time and slowly the police unpick the lies. Its so formulaic and predictable. Mrs Steer is a fan still.

SPOLIER ALERT 🤣

I like how her accent goes on a sightseeing tour of the whole of the North East and Cumbria during every episode.

Living in Whitley Bay I see them filming quite regularly, always a bit surprised at the extent of rubbernecking that goes on. Turns out Anne Cleeves is grandmother to one of my son's mates. A big double take answering the door to her the first time she came round to pick him up.

Not a fan, btw. Fun for spotting all the geographic non sequiturs you get watching anything filmed in an area you're familiar with though.

It's quite gritty on the quiet, the episode I just watched had a shooting it was very disturbing tbh...

Heartbeat is another favorite of mine guys although I was never that keen on The Royal I have been to see the set up on the South Cliff in Scarborough though 👍

Mrs V watches, so I get to laugh at the range of accents. It's years since Anne C was writing them and so the quality has dropped considerably since then. But it's nice to see the filming units about the place, gives a wee lift to the local economy.

I know she outlived the rest of Henry's wives but I'm surprised she's still alive?

There are 50 episodes of Vera on ITVX hub or whatever its called....

I've watched one episode, it very touch of Frost for the North east, quite watchable, but I suspect get a bit samey.
