For years we've been crying about spending massive on over hyped donkeys who were bloody awful and calling for Gibbo to go find Gems.
Yet when we do that in the Summer Window it's endless complaints and when they have a tricky start they're written off after 5 games.
I get it's been pretty bad, but so we really have to be so impatient and volatile towards certain individuals in the team? Or can we get behind them, Carrick and the long term vision?
There's still 123 points to play for
Chill out

Why does everyone tralk about the fans as if they are one congruent group? There have always been different groups who prefer one style over another, one way forward over another, one set of players over another, one ownership over another.

Nothing wrong with different oppinions it keeps everyone on their toes.

Good post. Lets be honest, it's a case of damned if they do, damned if they don't.

There isn't anything wrong with it mate I agree, but to be so quick to turn is an embarrassment. Boos at half time, boos at full time. We're 5 games in. I'd understand if it was 14/15 and we were looking hopeless, but we've got 12 new signings, alot of them are raw, it's embarrassing that there is fans calling Rogers in particular

Think there was a balance to be had.

Possibly too many players with potential rather than getting one or two more with proven Championship experience.

But two loans is good - 6 loans last season hasn't been a good move long term.

Time will tell, but not after half a dozen games.🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

I've said multiple times, we're trying to sustain the club whilst having a young group of our own players. They'll grow together and they'll get better.
I'm willing to be patient with them and get behind them, if we do they could make this club alot of money and bring a lot of success. Rome wasn't built in a day

I totally agree there mate, I'd have loved a couple more experienced players coming through the door but there's another transfer window in January to rectify that.
These are our players now, not just here for a year and split we have to get behind them

I agree boos and abuse is wrong - no matter how bad it gets I'd never boo personally. But that's just a human nature thing. I suspect/hope the players and management team are switched on enough to internally temper both the boos and the plaudits.

Absolutely. There's a few however who rubbish the club no matter what they do or try do. It's ridiculous. Funny but they usually have the likes of 'Boro" or 'Ayresome' in their usernames (and i'm not pointing the finger directly at anyone). You can spot them a mile off.

Oh I have, Morgan Rogers gets horrific abuse on Facebook and X
Fair enough, I haven't seen any of that, but clearly it's not on.

However, you have to be careful. There will always be keyboard warriors, but if the abuse is bad enough then action can be taken. One poster on here accused another of making personal statements about staff and players, but it was untrue. As I say, you need to be careful.

We've probably all done it at one point, criticised a player on here etc, usually in the heat of the moment. Off topic slightly, but I was thinking about the abuse Harry Maguire gets for instance. Its shocking and at the end of the day, he's only human so it must affect him.

Can't say I've seen much volatility towards anyone really.
Then you haven't looked hard enough. Sample of typical comments seen in last 48 hours and I do aknowledge some said in frustration at result but said all the same.

Engels - too slow for this League
Rogers - Too many comments to list on how the ineptitude observed. Written off by a few already
Silvera - A project player and unable to make any impact. Shouldn't be in the team.
Latte Lath - Wont score many goals ( kindest comment)

Only Dieng of the new players hasn't had any criticism.

These are comments after 5 games. Justified or not they are being made.

Criticism and abuse are two very different things. Some on here would do well to know the difference.

So is it criticism or volatility?

I don't really want to go looking for such posts as I don't agree with giving individuals abuse. However, as per my previous post, abuse and criticism are not the same.

Being volatile (the word used by the OP) and abuse is also very different. His point remains I think valid. What I would say in response to Zoo's comments is to completely disregard anything said in the Matchday thread. Its all said in the heat of the moment. We can be either world beaters or utterly dogsh1t in that thread.

‘Southgate Out!’
Aww not Strachan..

‘Karanka Out!’
Aww not Agnew..

‘Get Monk in!’
Aww Monk is shyte

‘Get Pulis in!’
Aww this if fcuking aweful’

‘A young coach with a focus on our academy’
Not Woodgate!! and what’s with all these young lads!!

‘We need someone who knows the league and some proper hard experienced players’
He’s a dinosaur..

‘If we could get Chris Wilder’
What an absolute tvvat he was

‘No way could we get someone like Carrick.. he’s out of our league.. and we need to be sustainable like Brentford..

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
we’ve lost 21 games out of 5 why did we sell anyone or buy anyone.. I want the exact opposite of whatever I said I wanted BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
this squad is ruined.. they way we made it so much better overall.

We should have paid £17m to keep Chuba Akpom.. see if he fancies being a footballer two seasons in a row and £14m for an injured Aaron Ramsey.. etc etc etc

I think one of the main problems with most fans is they've forgot about one crucial rule... "Don't fall in love with loan players".

Engel has only played 2 league games, and personally I think he's been okay/average, in a very okay/average team.

The new lads are no more so to blame in our most recent performances than Fry, Howson, Lenihan... they're just easier to complain about.

Shouting for a player to be removed from the team and commenting that he is not good enough is not criticism. Not in my view anyway. Pointing out weaknesses and what he needs to do to improve his game or position he should play is valid criticism. Its also of more value. I get that if they are still not delivering after a period in the team then out they have to go. The point of the OP was 5 games is too early to write them off and some people are undoubtedly doing so.

5 games in I think you have to stick with these players to give them a confidence boost - I think anyway. We are stuck with this squad so we need to work out a winning mentality. If we don't and the growing frustration deepens then we could be fooked.

@Abel Tasman Fair point. I shouldn't read it.
