Then you haven't looked hard enough. Sample of typical comments seen in last 48 hours and I do aknowledge some said in frustration at result but said all the same.

Engels - too slow for this League
Rogers - Too many comments to list on how the ineptitude observed. Written off by a few already
Silvera - A project player and unable to make any impact. Shouldn't be in the team.
Latte Lath - Wont score many goals ( kindest comment)

Only Dieng of the new players hasn't had any criticism.

These are comments after 5 games. Justified or not they are being made.

It is exactly this. The squad has been together for a matter of weeks and we're looking to chastise anyone who isn't putting 2 goals a game in or playing like Pirlo.

Give the lads a chance, more so Carrick and his team.

I think there needs to be a distinction between abuse/name calling and just honest observation and criticism. The season so far hasn't been up to standard, and fans have every right to criticise the team, but not abuse, nobody deserves that.

Do think most of it has been criticism, born of frustration.

We were spoilt last season, standard of football was some of the best I've seen. So losing 6 loan players, best part of 50 goals and your best player ....... without the equivalent money to replace them, always going to be worse off. Fans haven't took well to it.

Nothing we can do except get behind the players, manager. Worst thing that will happen is if the results continue the fans could quickly turn and before we know it we'll be in a relegation spiral. Boos ringing out around the Riverside and young players will have their confidence knocked to sh*t.

It's frustrating, but bit more patience needed.

I think one of the main problems with most fans is they've forgot about one crucial rule... "Don't fall in love with loan players".

Engel has only played 2 league games, and personally I think he's been okay/average, in a very okay/average team.

The new lads are no more so to blame in our most recent performances than Fry, Howson, Lenihan... they're just easier to complain about.
Don’t mean to be pedantic, but he’s played 3 league games.

Last season vs this season..

Wilder had 10 points by game 11.. Percovich had 5 games (12 to 16) winning 7 points 17 points after 16 games

15 loses all season, Sunderland 13, Coventry 12.. Luton 8

All fair assessments

For years we've been crying about spending massive on over hyped donkeys who were bloody awful and calling for Gibbo to go find Gems.
Yet when we do that in the Summer Window it's endless complaints and when they have a tricky start they're written off after 5 games.
I get it's been pretty bad, but so we really have to be so impatient and volatile towards certain individuals in the team? Or can we get behind them, Carrick and the long term vision?
There's still 123 points to play for
Chill out
If we continue to play how we played on Saturday we will be fortunate to get double points out of that 123,QPR are a truly awful team but we made them look like a Premiership side.

Engle.. slow?

I also think one of the main problems at the moment is more basic in the fact that we have so many new players in the team who are ”trying too hard” to impress rather than playing naturally and getting their brains into gear.

Shouting for a player to be removed from the team and commenting that he is not good enough is not criticism. Not in my view anyway. Pointing out weaknesses and what he needs to do to improve his game or position he should play is valid criticism. Its also of more value. I get that if they are still not delivering after a period in the team then out they have to go. The point of the OP was 5 games is too early to write them off and some people are undoubtedly doing so.

5 games in I think you have to stick with these players to give them a confidence boost - I think anyway. We are stuck with this squad so we need to work out a winning mentality. If we don't and the growing frustration deepens then we could be fooked.

@Abel Tasman Fair point. I shouldn't read it.
The league is a real slog and very difficult especially this year. Carrick needs to make some big changes to get us pushing forward again

Said no football fan ever

As for Agnew I still can’t believe we were in the prem the greatest league in the planet ( tm sky)and we gave the job to the guy who put the cones out for Steve Bruce ( a role he went back to after he left us)

That was insanity.
He was the outstanding candidate though. Out of one I'm sure.

Christ, Gibson has made some big mistakes in the last 15 years!
