We got a slice of luck…

It was never a red for me.
I’m glad the ref thought differently because we are overdue a bit of luck and it could be exactly what was needed to kickstart our season and ensure we march on to..mid table obscurity. Which I’ll take, over a relegation scrap.

The lad scraped against Howson thigh with his studs, he knew what he was doing it was intentional as there is no reason for your feet that high. He then extends his leg just after the thigh contact and tries to scrape his studs across Howson knee..

It doesn’t need to be a super aggressive action remember Beckham at the World Cup or Aliadiere against mascherano

I think it was a tad lucky, but I think we're forgetting that just because a team have a man sent off it doesn't mean you'll automatically win. Often teams make it difficult putting everyone behind the ball, we were absolutely terrible before the sending off but actually reacted very well to the advantage. Basically what I'm saying is it's maybe not as binary as "we only won because they had a player sent off " . We still had to play well enough to win.

Yes, he had his legs bent and tucked in when he spun round, he didn't kick out by the look of it.

The board would be outraged if it had happened to a Boro player.
Absolutely this. It was never a red card. I think he’s caught Howson but there was no intent, and Howson hasn’t realised that.

If the shoe was on the other foot we’d all be fuming.

Will be interesting to see if Norwich appeal it and what the outcome will be.

The sending off gave us some belief, I think. Before that we were truly shocking. They looked as if they didn't want to be on the pitch. No responsibility, no energy, no fight. Afterwards, they suddenly remembered they were footballers and could play - a bit. Credit to Forss for that first goal out of nothing. Norwich wilted.

That's what I thought when it happened. Like Beckham, it didn't deserve a red, but like Beckham, a certain type of ref was always gonna give it.

I don't think it was a red.

Spare a thought for QPR... have a look at their highlights. A WBA defender (behind the keeper) tips the ball over the bar with his hand. Nailed on red card, and nailed on pen. Ref gives a corner 🤡

After their pantomime slapstick goal went in, I too thought we were in for a bad night. In fact, I was thinking at the time with the sparse crowd to start with, that the ground would start to empty at half time.
However, the red card did, without a doubt, change the game in our favour.
I was surprised how bad Norwich became afterwards, it was as if both sides had swapped shirts. Great three points, and given the congestion at the bottom end of the table, a win that was very much welcome. UTB

Definitely a red for me. He kicked out at Howson and made contact - doesn't have to try to break his leg.

Would a similar situation be a player throwing a punch then missing - would that be deemed acceptable? No, straight red.

Thought Howson handled the situation well - could have gone done, rolling around but he simply made the ref aware the Norwich player has kicked out and caught him on the thigh. Bit of "ayyyyaaazzz.....that's knacks......a bit"

Pure petulance and lack of discipline cost Norwich......and if that had been one of our players who done that I'd be calling him out for being a d*ckhead.

By their reaction, I think some of the Norwich players expected a red.
The lad has previous apparently.
Personally I thought it was harsh.
