What have Coventry done differently to us?

They've spent big on the summer; the money they got in has pretty all been spent and their wage bill will almost certainly be higher this season.

It's that sustainable? Time will tell, but I can't see them spending big sums this coming summer.

I've no doubt they have the same idiotic fans who have wanted him sacked after every defeat like we have but the club have stood firm.
Can honestly say I don't think I've read any posts on this board from anyone saying they want Carrick sacked.

I know one person in real life who said it after Bristol. But he's an imbecile.

Carrick has had way more support than any other manager in the last 20 years.

They sold 1 striker for £21m and signed 2 strikers for £16m. We should've bought two strikers with the Akpom money instead of putting all our eggs in a single basket.
Two strikers for 5 million? Well we bought one and josh was the other. Personally I'm glad we didn't buy someone else as I don't think they would be as good as coburn. I've still more faith in our academy players than our recruitment.

What do you think latte lath is?

Are you advocating spending big again. Like we did on assombalonga?

I'd rather not.
I would have ideally either had a 10ish mill proven champo striker or two 4 or 5 mill Latte Lath type gambles.

Maybe we tried for that and they weren't available.

What I am most sore about now is that one of the gambles we made that looked like paying off (Rogers) was then sold last month without being replaced, pretty much ending our season.

I think we were trying to do that, but in the end couldn’t get a deal done for anyone on our list of targets who we deemed to be better than Coburn

Worked wonders for our season, over in mid February.

Coburn was injured for most of pre-season and has been injured for most of the actual season too.

Simms, 6.2m deal rising to 8m with add-ons . Played 12 starts , scoring 3 in 2 of the games. Subbed on 15 times , 1 goal in 2 of those games. Not great so far, to be fair
Since end of Nov Coventry have being driven on by Sakomoto RM (£2m) with 7 goals in 5 matches in 15 appearances.

As TeaCider said, Rogers and Archer were signed to be Akpom and Archers replacements. The way the season has panned out has meant that we've been unable to give them both games playing in their respective positions consistently.

If new players had have been able to settle in quicker and we'd have had more luck regarding injuries, the team below could have been our main team this season, and we'd be further up the league had that been the case.

we got half a dozen full backs and none of them are good enough. Also we cant defend
We've had to use replacement full backs and centre backs to play out of position due to injuries to all of our full backs, with the exception of our most recent recruits, Ayling and Thomas.

Our defence is no worse than the one that got to the play offs last season.

And rightly so. From the time he has been with us he has shown a calm authority, doesnt upset the players or fans with stupid comments and has got on with the job producing attractive football despite the Club taking away key resources from him. However there have been some murmurings of discontent on the terraces from some idiots which is what the poster will be referring to. Mostly should be ignored.
