What is the furthest you have ever walked

I once walked all the way there then all the way back again. I was knackered. Probably get the bus back next time

I’m doing a 53 mile run today, the Hardmoors 55.. Guisborough to Helmsley along the Cleveland Way.. nice day for it 😳
At least it's not the Beast from the East like 2018. Well remember driving through Kildale and seeing people staggering down the Baysdale road in a maelstrom of driven snow. Kudos.🥶

We once walked our 10 mile circular training walk from Lord Stones and back over cringle and cold moors via chop gate. The snow was horizontal and the wind was mental but we stuck at it.

In one day? Yorkshire 3 peaks (25 ish miles), twice in 9 hours and 9:30, went both directions. 2 week walk to Everest base camp, kili, Inca trail (by far the hardest) and a few others. A fair few 20milers and boat load of 10+

Not walked in 2 years due to my mental health but did 9 miles 2 days ago, felt good to be back hiking.
Keep at it!

Nice to have met you (even if it turns out I've sat near you at the match over the years, small world). Good finish, 10th out of a sizeable field, 9hrs 40mins for 53 miles you must be happy with that.

A 'no football' Saturday so I thought I'd pop up to Kepwick Bank top (chance to give the Jolly Green Giant a run up the track from Hawnby). I just missed the race leader going past. When I clicked back through the front runners I recognised your pre-race photo, pure chance. There was a bit of a gap after you went past then it built to something of a cavalry charge.......it never did stop raining.

Had a nasty spell of hail over Bloworth Crossing until Clay Bank then yeah.. rain pretty much all the way from seeing you until Helmsley!

I wish I had know yesterday this was on as I was at a lose end today. Ended up going to teesside park. Huge mistake. Massive congratulations mate, that is some effort. I've hiked most of that route, couldn't imagine running it.

I was dot watching the runners late yesterday afternoon and there was a runner went off the Cleveland way near Gormire lake then proceeded to run round in circles in the woods for about an hour before he had a massive climb to get back on track, followed him till he got to White Horse checkpoint where he unfortunately dropped out , 🤦‍♂️

With that sort of sense of direction I assume he was a mountain biker in a former life.🤭

I just did 10 miles in 2hr 45. I feel inadequate after seeing some of the times from the 55 :D😅😅🤣
That's decent going for walking.

I did read that, unless you're a professional race walker with that weird style, there's a limit to how fast most people can walk without breaking into a jog.
Having watched the 55 yesterday I think the trick to shaving time off is to jog the downhills and walk the rest. Almost everyone passing me yesterday, on what was a fairly moderate uphill, were walking and only started jogging again when they reached the flat.

For those that enjoy a bit of Hardmoors dot watching it’s the Hardmoors 60 tomorrow (Cleveland Way from Guisborough to Filey) starting at 8pm.. watching a dot move slowly across a screen may be more exciting than listening to the Boro!

The link is below and I’m number 303 👍🏼🏃🏻‍♂️

Thank you! I did 11hrs 19 mins last year (which got me 2nd place) but not done quite so much training this time round so I’ll happily take a 12:30 now!

I know who 246 is and he could absolutely smash it tomorrow if he runs like he does on Strava!!
