What is the furthest you have ever walked

I used to live on Yarm Rd Stockton and work in Southbank in the guitar shop there.

Walked that twice a day for about six months (to use the bus allowance to supplement my £29 a week wage)

They sacked me for being late too frequently 🤣

Thank you! I did 11hrs 19 mins last year (which got me 2nd place) but not done quite so much training this time round so I’ll happily take a 12:30 now!

I know who 246 is and he could absolutely smash it tomorrow if he runs like he does on Strava!!
Ye he’s a road runner by trade

2nd place, rhat is some going. Think I’d be happy with sub 24 hours

My pal just completed a run from Lands End to John O’Groats. I’d ran part of the Guisborough Filey route with him and struggled to keep up just doing the couple of hours I ran. These guys are machines.

My longest runs were Hemlington to Seaton Carew or Saltburn, which I’ve done a handful of times. Nothing compared to those guys.

In a oner without stopping, Would be rat race dirty weekend a few years ago, which was a 20mile run with 200 obstacles thrown in.

Also did the 5 peaks of UK and Ireland in 48 hours last month. 3 of them fell within 24 hours. Slieve Donard, Snowden and Scaffell Pike. Not sure on mileage though.

Like wake a couple of years ago, think we clocked about 43 miles. I regularly do ten miles or more and like to do five every day if I get the chance. I log my walks on OS Maps app and make sure my ‘previous 30 days’ is never less than 100 miles. Not bad for an owld bloke.

Lyke Wake Walk for me 42 mile?? Then another mile to Ravenscar Hall hotel for the long awaited beer. that last mile seemed to last about 5 hours.

Going to Scotland to do a walk from Kinlocuh Hourn to the old forge pub at the end of march. The most remote pub on mainland UK apparently, 20 miles that one.

Hopefully get the Hambleton Hobble (30 mile) boxed off this year aswell.

The bug well and truly has me at the min.

I did 6.5miles on Wednesday - up and down the peaks of the Malverns - it nearly killed me and took 3.5 hours without a break.

In 1991 I did Saltburn to Whitby and a month later Whitby to Scarborough.

As kids our dad used to regularly walk us to Redcar, around the arcades, beach etc, and then back home.

So 22 miles?

Long time ago that place Hap.
I was probably 16 or 17 at the time, yeah - ages ago 😣

I particularly remember helping Paul, who ran the drum shop upstairs, pack the drum kit that we were lending Paul Smith of the Toy Dolls, to go on to Top of The Pops that week. Nelly the Elephant!

Was it, I remember the song at the time. I went in mainly looked, had some nice stuff in iirc. My mate once bought a set of Pearl Drums from Hamilton's Music in Middlesbrough. I think Guitarzan had Olympic by Premier ? Its a long time ago I remember Lee Vasey being in there sometimes.
