What is the furthest you have ever walked

Was it, I remember the song at the time. I went in mainly looked, had some nice stuff in iirc. My mate once bought a set of Pearl Drums from Hamilton's Music in Middlesbrough. I think Guitarzan had Olympic by Premier ? Its a long time ago I remember Lee Vasey being in there sometimes.
They were big on Sonor drums at the time. I worked at Hamilton's too for about six months. Very different place to work...

Maybe whatever the Duke of Edinburgh gold expedition is. About 15 miles a day over 3 days or something?

So not that far compared to some but that's while carrying all your camping **** on your back too mind.

Camino de santiago for me, 500 miles in 30 days - great fun 😀
I'm gonna be a Camino pendant, you mean the Camino Frances? There is a lot of Caminos but I know what you mean people who exclusively walk the most popular one know it as the 'Camino'. I love it as well but I walked the Camino del Norte first so I get touchy about the CF being known as The Camino.

Yeah, camino frances, started in st jean pied de port, over the pyrenees and across northern Spain. Met some fantastic people and I would recommend to any walkers :)

Was it Bongo Bills Guitarzan ?
A blast from the past! Were they the same shop or originally separate shops next door on Normanby Road before moving to the larger shop on Middlesbrough Road?

Back to the original question - I did the 42 mile Lyke Wake Walk when I was 15. "Condolences on your crossing ".

a couple of local long'ish walks i've done recently, last few years: South Gare to Saltburn & back I think that's about 20 miles / 30km & very nice along the beach on a warm sunny day..
Also Teesside 3 peaks - Roseberry - Highcliff - Captain Cook's - Roseberry which is 10 miles though I did it from Marton which makes it about 25

20 miles when doing a sponsored walk when at school, over 45 years ago. Was knackered at the end but people but a bit extra in for going that distance. More recently, 11 miles the night of the Euros at Wembley, couldn’t get a taxi back home from Redcar so walked to Acklam, arrived home about 3am 🙈

A few years ago myself and some mates planned to walk Osmotherley to the Lion Inn. We were woefully unprepared, got lost and end up in the wrong direction. By the time we reached our destination we’d walked about 20 miles. My legs were in bits!

Like wake a couple of years ago, think we clocked about 43 miles. I regularly do ten miles or more and like to do five every day if I get the chance. I log my walks on OS Maps app and make sure my ‘previous 30 days’ is never less than 100 miles. Not bad for an owld bloke.
I did the Lyke Wake when I was at school, in June one year. It seemed pretty easy, setting off at about 3.00am and walking into the dawn. It was fun. Then some bright spark suggested we do it in winter, so we tried the following January. My God, I thought it was a different walk. Trying to cross raging torrents that had been lovely title streams in the summer, having to pull your foot out of muddy ground a lot of the way while walking into driving sleet. We quit after about 10 miles. I've still got my one little back coffin shaped badge though.

To be honest even in summer it can be a different walk if it’s been raining. Winter - forget it you must have a screw loose.

I think it was Captain Cooks to Roseberry Topping when I was 13 yrs old. Made to by the school and I moaned all the way.It was red hot and no one had any water. Must have been 50 of us and everyone let the teachers know how unhappy we were.

I’ve also completed the West Highland Way recently. I added a few bits on and topped out at 112 miles for the week. I started the Dales Way from Harrogate Link last September and that also topped out at over 100. In a single day, I’ve run 50 miles four times, completing the Woldsman in East Yorkshire. I’ve also done a fair few Hardmoors 26.2 events and quite a few LDWA events as runs. As a retired old codger I still run regularly and enjoy a decent 20 mile wander.
