What's your favourite Cheese?

Novak Djokovic once bought the entire world’s supply of donkey cheese.

Not sure what to make of that. Is it the best cheese or is he just a wrong ‘un?

I’m quite partial to a bit of Old Amsterdam.
I like any vintage cheddar, especially from Orkney. I also like Comte and Portuguese goats cheese. Any blue cheese, especially melted on a steak.

Funny you should mention blue cheese a I had a piece of Roquefort for lunch. If you'd told me it was Danish blue I'd not have known the difference.

Is this heresy ?

Well, the absolute King of Cheeses of course.
You beat me to it, you have described it perfectly. The limestone is essential to allmost having a sensation of having a peppery, hot sensation initially on your tongue. I haven't been to the limestone caves but want to, I would contest with you it is solely a Cantabrian cheese, I know it as an Asturian cheese but up in the Pico's both Autonomous Communities borders become blurry as do the cultural identities. The pastures and grazing areas used by cattle, sheep and goats are shared in the hotter months, soni assume the milk for the cheeses can't be said to come solely from one area.

A bit of a cheesy question.
My favourite cheese is Red Leicester and I bought a small block from the Morrisons Deli counter yesterday and it is absolutely delicious it's called Belton Farm red fox crunchy Red Leicester it is one of the best cheeses I have tasted in a long time.
So I just thought I would ask what other people's favourite is and get some recommendations in the process.
Our 'British Standard' cheese used to be Cheddar of some variety but we changed to Belton Red Fox some time ago, you're right it's delicious. We usually have Gouda or Compte as well plus some blue, usually Yorkshire Blue.

You are quite right, Asturian might have been a better desciption, though I think Cabrales is close to the regional border ... and I lazily think of that whole coast as Cantabrian.

Just bought a Cave Aged Cheddar from Aldi this morning off the back of this thread.

Haven`t tried it yet though, so no idea how it tastes
