When is channel 4 going to sack Rachel Riley?

There is opposition among Jews to Zionism in Isreal itself and also worldwide.

The whole Palestinian issue was something that I really went quite deep into before my lad was born.
Where we live there was a couple of jewish groups who were against zionism. They changed their name to remove the jewish reference so that anybody could join and we had quite a few meetings and had talks from Palestinians and a lot of Isrealis who opposed the apartheid. That s was where I first learned about 'mowing the lawn' etc
A lot of the Israelis we saw actually classified themselves as Palestinian jews.

I do not blame Israelis for the actions of their government in the same way I wouldnt blame Russians for Putin.
There are, however, a lot of right-wing extremists in Israel - such as the Zionist lunatics who create illegal settlements on Palestinian land. They put even their own families in danger. These are the nutters that Netanyahu had to create a government with to stay in power.

Playing devil's advocate ... in that tweet she doesn't say that Sydney is an Islamist terror event nor part of a Global Intifada.

She does retweet the claim that the people marching in London in support of Palestinians are calling for Global Intifada and then says a global intifada would look like Sydney, not that it is the first attack.
Dogwhistle, probably.
Sackable, probably not.
Riley apologies for any misunderstanding & deletes the tweet, Independent tears her a new one with their headline:

"She continued: “Attacks on Jews have recently become repackaged as ‘resistance’ in some circles, and we should in one voice condemn all acts of violence, whoever the perpetrators and whoever the victims. I am sorry if this message was misunderstood, that was not my intention.”"

I must have missed the bit where she condemned the Isreali government for "acts of violence, whoever the perpetrators and whoever the victims".

that sounds quite racist of her
Well not when you take into account what she was responding to.

"One of the reasons people may have misconstrued your initial tweet was because most people wouldn't know you were Jewish"

Whether this matters or not, I don't know, but the quote is from more than 5 years ago.

Regardless, her current behaviour is pretty awful. She is showing strong racist views towards the arab/muslim communities. She's supposed to be an ambassador against hate speech, but she is displaying hate on a daily basis. Does she attract online hate from some quarters, yes, but then much of it now seems in retaliation for her own hateful views. I mean just at the weekend, those posts about Sydney, we all know she jumped the gun and assumed it was a muslim terror attack......but even if you give her any tenuous doubt that she didn't jump the gun and make that assumption, then she immediately utilised the victims of a terrible situation to make an unrelated point, before their bodies were even cold. she even lacked the intellectual honesty and moral equivalence, by making comments about the dead babies in Gaza, but no, only jewish ones were her concern. It's appalling, islamophobia and straight up racism.

Colin Murray hosts Countdown, and we've renamed it the Colin Murray Show. He is awful, and he was just as awful too when he hosted the EFL Saturday night roundup programme. Big mouth.
