Why the statue of footballing legend Brian Clough should stay in Middlesbrough's Albert Park

Yep - maybe when the two books are published a big campaign can be launched.
That is what it needs.
I don't really understand why there should be a new Camsell statue at the stadium he never played at, but Brian Clough should stay vulnerable in Albert Park?

I'd like both to be at The Riverside, our home.

It’s Not a new statue, but any statue as he is our all time top scorer a record that no one will ever beat and one of the highest in the country for bOth club and country and yet he is barely known either inside or outside of the town.

He deserves that honour.

I would move it out of the park near the gates so CCTV can keep an eye on it. I know he was a bit of a lad but putting a cage around him is a bit much.

Fans could damage the statue by accident wherever it is. It could be due to people taking selfies and touching it. The back leg. I don't think there is any evidence that anyone has deliberately damaged it.

The last time he came to see a Middlesbrough match he came to give Kevin Phillips his shirt.

I know he was a boro legend a boro lad and his record is incredible but don’t kid yourself he cared about us as he didn’t.

Remember his comment at the Coca Cola final v Leicester because I do.

Perhaps you don't know he was about to be offered the role of Hon President of the Middlesbrough Former Players Association when he died.
He had a framed wage slip on his office wall at Nottingham Forest that he was paid by the Middlesbrough Empire for a week's work - a head tennis competition between himself and Lindy Delapenha. He was very fond of Middlesbrough, Albert Park and his many friends and family as testified by the incredible queues (several hours) at his book signing in the Cleveland Centre.

The forest fans who do the vlogs did. They visited Valley Road to take a look at his house too so did the derby lass who comes on here every now and then.
I have given many people guided tours of the statue and the Clough family home in Valley Road.
Nearby is the site of Boro's first ground. The pub where the club was launched (Albert Park Hotel) and the site of the cafe where Brian met his wife and also talked tactics with Peter Taylor as well as St Barnabas Church where Brian married Barbara.
When it is fully open again the nearby Dorman museum contains Boro memorabilia as well as lots of Boro archives.
The statue is seen by thousands of people every week that walk, run or stroll through the park. It is in the heart of Brian Clough's Middlesbrough.

I don’t doubt that rob and I’ve heard this from his sister as well but nothing was ever said by him. You know it as well as me that he had very little time for us as a football club ok towards the end he may have mellowed.

I wish he’d had been as you say but there is very little evidence for it.

Nigel was born in Sunderland wasn’t he ??

Do the family who now own the home allow people in to tour it?
