Wilder favourite for Burnley???

There finances aren’t meant to be great , they could free fall another division. Wouldn’t surprise me if they look for a buyer now

Just seen it on twitter and thought 'cheers'.

Then logged into my sky bet account...

What the actual f*ck? 🙄

You can basically discount any bookie odds for any managerial position, there is absolutely no insight in them whatsoever and the initial favourites are almost never the actual manager.

Rooney is second favourite and he's busy taking Derby down.
Absolutely no chance whatsoever is he being appointed by Burnley to try and keep them up in a tougher league.

I logged onto my Betfair account to stick a bet on todays game (tenner at 5-2 on a draw, cheers boys) and next Burnley manager was at the top of the page! Couldn’t believe it when saw wilder was favourite

I can only assume it’s because there were rumours Burnley wanted him last summer if Dyche left when he had just left Sheff utd. It’s either that or people are lumping money on him.

David Unsworth. Former Burnley player, with aspirations of being a manager. Kept Everton up a few years back? I think. Maybe I'm over-egging the job he did for them. It's the sort of move a group of owners who don't have experience of running a football club might make. Alternatively, they might appoint someone like him or a leftfield candidate and a fresh voice might make the difference and keep them up. It looks odd but you never know what's going on behind the scenes.

I'd be amazed if Wilder bothered to even answer a question about it really. I pray there is nothing in it from his end.

When thinking about whether we should get promoted This season or next I always opt for next season, however the possibility that wilder may get headhunted does cross my mind. In their current position I cannot see taht they are a better bet than us - hopefully nothing in it and just bookies summising!

Absolutely no chance of it in my opinion. Although I would suggest they have something lined up to sack Dyche. Bold move. Don’t see it being Wilder at all mind you. He’s loving it here and in it for the long haul for me.

Apparently Wilder was 50/1. The odds only come down if someone backs him with big money or loads of little bets.

I just think they are daft sacking dyche. I can't think of someone better to try and get them back up.

Yes this.
I think someone must have stuck some daft money on him soon after Dyche was sacked.

No smoke…
These are small markets, weight of money from bets placed can massively skew who the favourite is. Look at any managerial vacancy and watch how the odds change frequently between who is going to be appointed. It's same for markets for players to sign for a team and other markets where there isn't a huge amount of cash in play
