Wilder Rumours

Bumped into a journalist that I know but haven’t seen for year or so today.
He is good friends with a player who has recently left the club.

When Wilder was linked with Burnley, he told the players, as soon as the offer comes in for me, I’m off to Burnley.
This was before the Huddersfield home game last season.

It was obvious in that game the players heads had gone, I think Bola and someone else were screaming at eachother at one point.

The ex-player that told me still has ties to the club and doesn't usually say much, but when he does it's usually bang on.

At that time Wilder was said to be openly slating the hierarchy of the club having let him down in January over potential signings.

Not long after that game there were clear the air talks between Gibson and Wilder.

I would agree gibson probably only kept him on the vague hope he turn things round and not have to pay him off. I bet Gibson's was absolutely fuming with wilders behaviour.
probably wanted him to hand his notice in and leave, rather than pay him 18 months worth of wages on principle

Missed this thread first time round and I've just read the full 31 pages ha ha.

Makes interesting reading on reflection of what's gone on.

Interesting

I think the fact he was sacked in the manner he was with no replacement lined up suggests it was a sacking not a removal.

Plus no comment from either party suggests that as well.

clearly some legal clauses to prevent any talking about it. I would suspect he's technically on gardening leave until he finds a new job to save us paying him 18 months wages.

He'll have a severely bruised ego I would think, he presents this image that he's a top top manager, but maybe that's just an indication that deep down he has some imposter syndrome
I don't agree at all re IS.
He will have a bruised ego, but will keep schtum to take the money.
I'd suggest he will be back in the game within a year when the financial equation works and will have his say on his version of what has happened.

He won't say anything.. he wouldn't even mention our previous managers name!! Nah, if he blabs then it will all come out.. he wont want that.

I could understand him not being happy about lack of backing in the summer but January, I thought Balogun and Connelly were his picks?
