I think the fact he hasn’t played hardly under carrick tells it’s own story doesn’t it.

Not really. Carrick never doubted his ability, he's said that himself. Jones went through a period where he wasn't putting the required effort in on the training ground. Or at least not as much as others. His partner has recently had a baby and his performances in training weren't really up to scratch. Don't know if he was tired or what but Carrick and his coaching staff have done their best to support him and get him back up to speed. He's now looking very sharp again in training by all accounts and seems to have his confidence back. Obviously I'm not going to say who told me this. Carrick is a big fan of Jones, no doubt about it.

Because my point was that his crossing technique was poor. If the pull back isn’t available and he goes for the cross it’s usually a wasted opportunity. To be a better player you need to have both in your armoury

Over the years there have been successful wingers who don't do big crosses. It's about playing to their strength not people's expectations.

I will support everybody but jones isn’t good enough for where we want to go, he was very poor today again. I want nothing more than for the lad to do well for us but he isn’t doing it.
