Worst Ever Boro 11 - We have our team!

Antonio Barragan or Alan Wright, both equally shyte.

Just read Alan Wright was a left back normally so maybe I’ve jumped the gun by a day. Remember Chris Morris was a weak link in our team back in the day but Justin shoyte was awful with his assombalonga smile just after he’d ****ed up again

‘Throwing a ball’ knows no league. He didn’t want to play for the boro.. if he did.. he would have showed us up in the tampons as well.
 
Right back for me has to be John Brownlie, might have been on of Bobby Murdoch’s last signings as I think he came after relegation in 1982. More recently Cyrus Christie was ok going forward, but couldn’t defend and Ryan Shotton had a long throw!

Ryan Shotton had a few good games at.. wing back (under Tony Pulis)
 
Got to be Barragan for right back for me. Aside from the throw ins, he was awful but the real thing that got me seething was his visible absolute lack of giving a toss! The number of times he was beaten or messed up and would just be mooching without a care in the world as the ball went in, and would then just turn and trudge back to position for restart, drove me insane.
Doesn‘t matter that he was up against quality opposition, or that we were losing all the time. It’s the fact he seemingly didn’t give a toss, didn’t want to be here and didn’t put a shift in eventually.
Not being good enough but at least trying your best and showing you care can still get you a long way with most fans.
Maybe I’m being unfair on the bloke and he cared deeply but he certainly didn’t show it and as such, he’s been the only player I’ve truly disliked in many many years.

edit. On reflection, my reasons above possibly don‘t really justify him getting the slot as being the worst right back we’ve had, as it’s mainly an attitude issue rather than an ability one. He’s just the one I’ve disliked the most and I could have the bloke completely wrong so yeah…just ignore me.😂

Cant have a discussion about Boro right backs without mentioning Parky, I'm assuming Chris Morris took over from him?

that's not even close mate. Valdes was ok, Barragan terribly average, we've had much worse though. Espinosa nah, Mido and Gestede were mostly injured, poor signigs but not awful players.
