Worst Ever Boro 11 - We have our team!

Alves and Assombalonga the worst strikers ever for Boro? Madness.

Lee Dong Gook, 0 goals in 23 appearances.
Aliadiere, 11 in 78.
Project Emnes, 24 in 141.
Gestede, 6 in 59.

Chris Killen under Strachan, christ on a bike.
Kike Sola, although I'm not sure he counts given he played so little, but bloody hell he was bad.

Lee Dong Gook was bad..
Aliadiere played on the wing a lot of the time, class up top with Tuncay
Project Emnes looked alright in the championship.. when he was given a position.
Gestede was utter dog eggs
Chris Killen.. didn’t think he was THAT bad
Kike Sola was just a rumour

Wasnt this guy a striker?

17 appearaces no goals .. although i think he played in an attacking midfield role for usScreenshot_20230222-134252_Chrome.jpg

I must admit Guzan was terrible. I always thought Kevin Poole was rubbish for us and good for everyone else but was much better than Guzan.

The right back spot will be a popular debate, I'm busy tomorrow so would like to get my vote for Justin Hoyte in early.

Hoyte wasn't that bad. He was frustrating at times, bit of a speed boat without a driver, but his biggest crime seemed to be that he wasn't Luke Young.

There's no chance our "worst ever" right back goes on to play over 150 games for us. For starters the other right backs in the squad surely must've been worse? Unless everyone thinks Mowbray was an idiot.

He signed a contract extension with us too..

His biggest crime was not being Luke Young. He had ability, but did lack heart the first few seasons. Then became a consistent reliable performer for a couple of seasons and I'm pretty sure he was in the top three performers in, admittedly, not great Boro sides. In 2011/12 Emnes also had a good season, Barry Robson was always 100% and then it was probably Hoyte next best. We've had a lot worse.

John Brownlie was far worse. Plus we signed him from the skunks and at the same time John Craggs went to them.

Dwight Tiendalli was two years without a club when he left us..
