Not usually a fan of taking ex players but he's an upgrade on Barlaser and Payero. Not sure he gets in in front of Howson or Hackney.
Let's be honest we need 3 CMs who are good enough and we currently have 2. Howson isn't going to play every week. CMs are always going to pick up knocks and suspensions. Mowatt must have played at least 10 games last season.
I would take him as our 3rd CM. Barlaser relegated to 4th choice.

Which is why I said when he played you tart.
He came back into the team late on and looked good. The season before he played more than half their games.

Since leaving wigan 8 years ago he’s had just 9 goal involvements in nearly 200 games….why on Earth are we discussing this?!

I can’t think of anything he did while he was here that was remotely memorable. Tidy in possession but most players can control the ball and pass reasonably accurately over 5-10 yards. No improvement on anything here already. No impact, a nothing player.

Decent-ish move for him, surprised it is only one year, he's only 31. Suppose he has had a fair few injury lay-offs though.
