Cherry picking the best strikers and looking at their records is simply confirmation bias. How many players with the record of Kane went on to become his level (or even our level)?
Even then, Kane was highly rated at Spurs and they wanted to hold on to him. He did ok at those clubs considering his actual starts. He was in Leicester's promotion season and wasn't relied on as first choice. He would be more like a Balogun loan than the picking up players with crap records and hoping they suddenly come good.
I'll support anyone we do sign but I think any young player coming here, especially from abroad will need substantial settling in time and won't be what we need this season if we want to get promoted. We really need someone that can come in and hit the ground running. Someone with proven championship experience is more likely to give us that than a project.
