Yet more….

You agreed yes, a step forward.

Do you still think I am a liar ? Or a loony?

Where has the economy bombed? More cars exported, more jobs in finance, can't judge on tourism due to covid, the £ stable, unfortunately houses still seem to get more expensive, again cannot judge on employment due to covid, it seems we still have a NHS, defense, a police force, Marton chippy still selling great fish and chips, lots of small breweries, my life has improved.
Have you not been listening to everything that Has happened? The problems in a wide range of industries?

Does anybody make phonecalls when on holiday?

I only use my phone abroad to take photos or surf the internet. I've found from previous experience that public WiFi abroad is streets ahead of what we have in this country. I remember one holiday in Turkey every bar and restaurant along the beach in the resort we staying in (about 30 minutes outside of Bodrum), had free WiFi at a decent speed too.

£35 billion a year not paid in club fees.

This isn't a benefit. It represents a net loss when you factor in the benefits paying the 'club fees' provided. It's not even an argument.

A blue passport

Don't even need to comment on this one.

Not having to put up with Nigel Farage

Another ridiculous one.

Ireland, Spain, and God knows how many other countries not having a legal right to put laws on to me.

None of those countries ever had any such right, we carried rights of veto and significant voting rights in relation to any new EU laws, the UK drafted most of those laws that were 'put down on you', they are almost all designed to protect your rights and I bet you can't name a single one that affected your day to day life in any way.

Not close to being a benefit.

I see Cameron , Gideon et Al were right about the £ equalling the euro, housing collapsing, and their other miriad of pre referendum lies.

We are barely 6 months post Brexit (which is when the consequences were always going to come home to roost) and so called 'Project Fear' is literally coming true in front of your eyes and yet you are so deluded that you don't believe it to be happening. Besides that, the absence of a negative consequence is not the same as a benefit.

So, you gave it a good go (you didn't), and came up with precisely zilch. Want another go? Like these folk:

and despite the compelling arguments the REMAIN campaign still managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

What went wrong?

On the one hand: years and years of drip fed lies, misinformation and scapegoating followed by a campaign built on such lies and misinformation along with fraud, electoral breaches, data protection breaches and a healthy dose of racism and xenophobia. All of that was poured into an alienated and disaffected population that were provided an enemy and encouraged to vote against their own interests On the other a really poor Remain campaign that focussed on the economy and a message which didn't hit home against the hyperbolic, jingoistic and propogandist approach of its opponent.

Bit of a perfect storm really.

So £35 billion is not a benefit, and it's been 6 years.

I do love a remain fundamentalist.

Call me a racist.

Go on which industries? Do you think covid has had any effect.
Fishing, farming, fiannce to name but three from one letter in the alphabet!… you really should pay more attention. Unless you’re just one of these people who only hears what they want to here

No it absolutely isn’t. Not when offset against the benefits we got from EU membership (which you are ignoring) and not when you offset against the damage to industry (which you are also ignoring)
Yet you have the barefaced cheek to call ME a fundamentalist. I don’t know how you dare

No, it isn't when the cost of saving that £35bn is many billions more both in terms of lost benefits and additional economic damage. It's really not rocket science.

And no, it isn't 6 years. We have formally and legally been out of the EU for a little over 6 months. Before that we were either a fully fledged member or in a transition period that provided all the benefits of membership. There was never going to be any consequences until we actually left. Again, it's not rocket science.

Yep. Despite rolling out the Big Guns - Barak Obama etc. The ordinary people in this country were not convinced. These ordinary people, who are not as invested in politics (like some of the self appointed experts on here) and the REMAIN campaign failed to sway them

To me £35 billion is a benefit , but hey ho.

One man's potato is another man's potato.

It is a benefit. If you completely ignore what that is paying for. And what we are losing now we don’t pay it. You can’t be THAT ignorant. You can’t be. You must be arguing for arguments sake. I refuse to believe you genuinely think not paying membership is a benefit. I know Brexit is based on ignorance, lies and twisting the truth but even for a brexiteers stating a membership fee is staggeringly ignorant.

NNoI a
You don’t appear to be responding to my questions anymore! Just random comments. Why do brexiteers live in the fake news world where they can just ignore stuff and chrdwndn
No I answered and gave samples where Brexit had no effect. You called me a racist I just want you to confirm that.

Bingo

I have observed that you often resort to peddling stereotypes when discussing a topic which stirs your emotion. In a recent thread around vaccinations, for example, you linked people opposed to vaccination with holiday travel to Benidorm.

This is obviously much less problematic than linking Muslims to terrorism, or whatever it may be, but you are operating the same mental mechanisms as the people you deplore
To be fair, I don't say that all "brexiteers" are racist, as they certainly are not, but my point is I don't pretend racism doesn't exist, as a load do, and we all know they're mostly brexit voters, and brexit would not have happened without them. I would say >90% of our racists are on the "leave" side, that might be a stereotype, but it's also likely true, however uncomfortable that may be to some leave voters.

As for stereotypes, I suppose, it's a casual link, not 100% of course. Although, I don't think Anti Vaxxers are the sharpest tools in the shed, and from what I've seen in Benidorm that's not frequented by Britains best minds. I've been to Benidorm, wouldn't go again to be honest, the bellend to decent person ratio seemed extremely high.

People stereotyping and approving hate, racism, discrimination, xenophobia are directly opposite to me stereotyping them all as horrible people. The only common thing there is the word stereotyping.
